开端长短句相结合，画龙点睛 考生都知道六级作文的得分点其中之一便是复杂句，好的作文中无疑会有很多优秀的复杂句，但是整篇作文全部都是复杂句构成的话，也会给人晦涩穿凿的感觉，然而，在文章的开头写一个短小精辟的句子却可以起到画龙点睛的作用。而且如果我们把短句放在段首或者段末，也可以揭示主题。考生在文章开端时可以选择用一个长句一个短句，长句在前短句在后的形式，如果要对观点进行阐述的话，可以就每一个小点采用先短后长的句式，这样显得短小精悍并具有总结性。
主题句放在开头，清晰点题 作文老师在阅卷时时间紧迫，一般都会喜欢尽快找到文章的主题，所以考生在写作时可以在第一段开头就写明主题句，后面的文章就紧紧围绕这一主题展开，这样不仅可以让老师一目了然，也可以使自己的文章主题明确，条理清晰，如果把主题句放到文章中间，那么阅卷老师稍一仓促可能就找不到这样就会认定考生的作文偏题或跑题了，再想得高分就不容易了。
句式多变，灵活运用复合句和连接词 英语作文要想给人一种很精深有水平的感觉那就必然少不了运用复合句。所谓复合句就是那些主句里面套从句，句式较长的语句，考生高中时就学过定语从句、宾语从句、主从复合句等等基本的语法知识，在作文中可以加以运用。除此之外，英语作文的写作中，构成复杂句还有一个很重要的方式就是连接词的运用，在写作中通常会用到的就是转折、因果和并列关系的连接词，考生在复习时可以总结一下这些连接词，作文中用来写出漂亮的长句式。
