I’ve divided my presentation into two main sections. They are the comparison part and video part.
The first part is the comparison between Japan and Republic of Korea. In business culture area, Japan tends to teamwork spirit.
日本是一个狭长的岛国，国土资源匮乏；地震、台风等自然灾害频发；以村落为单位的农耕社会里对集体有严重的依赖传统。因此，不论是古代还是现代，要想获得生存，单靠个体的力量是远远不够，必须借助集体的力量。这是日本企业文化中重视集体作用、团队合作的重要原因。团队合作大大提高了他们的工作效率。
Japan tends to have high sense of time.
说到世界上时间观念很强的民族，可以想到两个，一个是德国人，另一个就是日本人。德国人体现在严谨，日本人体现在态度。日本人对于时间的观念，在日本人的脑海里，把时间分成两种，一种是别人的时间，一种是自己的时间。对于别人的时间，他们无比尊重，决不能浪费和占用；对于自己的时间则非常精于安排和计划。

The Phenomenon of East-West Cultural Integration
Good morning, everyone. May you all have a good mood. As we all know, the day before yesterday was Christmas. I think everyone enjoyed the day very much. Obviously, Christmas is a western festival, but Chinese people give it a new meaning, that is “safety and happiness”. And today, the topic of my speech is The Phenomenon of East-West Cultural Integration.
First, Let us know about the origin of Christmas. The name Christmas is short for Christ’s mass. A mass is a kind of church service. Christmas is a religious festival. it is the day we celebrate as the birthday of Jesus. There are special Christmas services in Christian churches all over the world. But many of the festivities of Christmas do not have anything to do with religion. Exchanging gifts and sending Christmas cards are the modern ways of celebrating the Christmas in the world.

Cultural globalization, which is a direct consequence of economic globalization, rids China of its closed cultural system and leads it into a multicultural society. Chinese culture is the main body of the Confucian culture as a kind of ethnic culture. However, with information and economic integration, cultural exchange warms up quickly. Meanwhile, all kinds of foreign cultures are flocking into China. Standing on the street, you can see McDonald’s and KFC everywhere. Even their passenger volumes are larger than those breakfast stores in China. Most people admit that they would rather eat KFC and don’t want to eat China classic breakfast. Maybe because it’s something new. In the same way, Japanese anime, American movies and South Korean dramas spread to Chinese university campuses, causing a sensation. Chinese students are crazy about those fresh cultures. Some even are proud of knowing better than others. As a result, domestic animation and the Chinese classic get into risks.

Do you know the name of the three most famous drinks in the world? They are tea , coffee and cocoa. China is the homeland of tea which has become the national drink. Referring to Chinese tea culture, it has several thousand years of history and can be traced back to the ancient times. Then it was flourished in the Tang dynasty and the Song dynasty.你知道这世界上最著名的三种饮料的名字吗?他们是茶,咖啡和可可。中国是茶的故乡。关于中国茶文化,它有几千年的历史,可以追溯到古代。然后是盛行于唐代和宋代。

The Pursuit of Happiness
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Hulei, coming from the Mechanical and Electrical Information limited company. The title of my speech is the pursuit of happiness, the same with a very famous American film acted by Will Smith.
In this film, Will Smith acted as a stockbroker intern named Chris Gardner in a stock company, who had neither bachelor degree nor great family background. As an intern, he was required to work at least 6 months without any salary. What’s worse, there were other 19 competitors, because only one of them could get this job. Meanwhile, due to the poverty, his wife left him away to New York. At last, he could not even pay the rent, and had to take his son and join the queue waiting for the relieving house from church. Even so, he still kept optimistic and told his son never to give up, just like the words he usually said ‘if you have a dream, you’ll have to protect it, and then happiness will come to knock by itself’. At last, the good fortune came to knock his door, and Gardner became a real stockbroker by his effort and persistence.

国际陶瓷文化交流中英语演讲的语篇模式探讨

摘要：由于西方人的思维习惯和修辞方式不同，英语演讲有其特定的语篇模式。本文试图通过对国际陶瓷文化交流中英语演讲的语篇模式进行研究，为日益频繁、逐步深入的国际陶瓷文化交流提供更为科学、更加有用的语言交流工具和桥梁。
关键词：国际陶瓷文化交流；英语演讲；语篇模式
随着国际陶瓷文化交流的日益频繁，以陶瓷文化为主题的国际性学术会议越来越多。在英语演讲中，虽然学者们努力表达，但很多人没能把自己的研究成果和独特观点恰当地传达给外国朋友。其主要原因在于，他们对西方的思维习惯和修辞方式了解不深，对国际学术会议演讲的语篇结构和语言特征认识不够。因此，提前准备符合西方语言规范的英语演讲稿，向国际同行们正确表达自己的见解，是开展国际陶瓷文化交流的重要途径。
一、英语演讲分析的理论依据
大量的研究资料证明，语类分析理论对语篇模式分析具有很强的指导意义，并越来越受到语言学家们的重视。如今，语类已经成为很多语言研究的热门话题。Halliday的系统功能语言学理论是当代最有影响的语言理论之一，他把语言看作是一种社会符号系统，认为语言依赖于语境而存在。

Our campus English culture
Good evening ladies and gentlemen, honorable judges and dear audiences. It is my great honor to stand here and give you a short speech. Tonight I want to share with you the topic is “our campus English culture”.
When I came to our campus I just think our college is very big and the environment is good. There are so many trees and the air is fresh. But that time I didn’t know the atmosphere of learning English. As the time goes by, I knew that there are so many English associations, such as CCS, harmonious English, flying English, crazing English, super English, English movie salon and so on.. I think it is our campus English culture, why? Because other campus without so many English associations, even the key university.
