——读赫胥黎《美丽新世界》有感
在工程局成立60周年之际，在繁忙的工作后的闲暇时间，静下心来打开电脑看了一下《美丽新世界》有一点想写点东西的冲动。
让我们来建立一个完美的新世界。基于对乌托邦的最完全理论，社会各个环节分工做到最为明确合理，社会流程达到最为精准洗练的程度，然后我们住进那里，可这看似无懈可击的完美集合是否是我们生活的理想状态？
阿道斯伦纳德赫胥黎在他反乌托邦的经典著作《美丽新世界》中，就为我们虚构了这样一个世界：福特纪元632年即公元2532年的社会，每个人自出生开始就沦落为基因公司的试验品，为了消除由于社会地位而引起的痛苦，人类被分为了阿尔法、贝塔、伽玛、德尔塔、爱普西隆五个阶级，类似于中产阶级的贝塔阶层会被灌输做阿尔法阶层太辛苦，做伽玛、德尔塔又太愚蠢的理念，而从事低级体力劳动的爱普西隆阶层接受的则是做前四种高种姓阶层都太辛苦的教育。每个阶级的人都各安其命，而这所谓乌托邦的祥和宁静，其实是用高端科学和心理学控制人们思维这种卑劣的手段制造出来的。在睡眠教学和精神麻醉药以及种种快乐福利的“护佑”下，淳朴而悲哀的基因试验品们乐知天命，安分守己，“劳心者治人，劳力者治于人”，人们在各自的阶层上喜气洋洋的生活，甚至无视已经恶劣到极点的阶级剥削。在这样一个世界里，各种科学几近饱和，秩序以一种软性国家暴力手段去维护，基因试验品，创造了发达的科学文明，却反被科学文明奴役。而这种变相奴役最可怕的地方，在于没有人觉得这是不妥的，没有反，零反抗。听起来这似乎是任何一个国家的领导层都渴望的理想状态，没有反抗，那么一切社会资源都可自由流动，耕者种，织者纺，世界大同，统治地位无人撼动。首脑们如此渴望着顺理成章的对我们进行思想奴役，我们也焦虑着朝不保夕的工作和世界大乱的那一天，极度渴望着太平盛世。大家一起共同为之努力，保不齐哪天这种设想就真的实现了。赫胥黎的这本书，最有价值的地方在于，它有一定的预测功能和警示作用。它特别描述了生物学、生理学、心理学这些生命科学在未来对人类身上的应用。并指出未来最大的变革并不是在物质文明、军事、经济等外部世界，而是在人类自身的灵肉上进行。乌托邦的统治者正是利用这种对人类本身的基因革命使得社会从无政府主义的崖边拉回到一个虽不算真正和平，但毁灭性受到限制的有限战争时代。而这个妥协了的理想社会，将由高度集中的集权主义政府来管制。谁也说不准十年、二十年之后，在那不久的未来，社会混乱频率升级，生命科学发展到神乎其神的地步，某几个政府首脑一激动就拍板决定用极端手段去维护统治秩序，那么美丽新世界也就成为我们的后代要生存的世界了。

A Book Review On Brave New World
When reading the introductory passage about this book before starting it formally,the year of 1932 attracts my attention.As we all know,there was so much turmoil in Europe in the year of 1931,severe social problem ,such as depressing economy,high unemployment rate,the unrest of government,made the whole Europe a horrible place.In such a circumstance,it was spontaneous for people to dream for a better world and just judging from the name it’s quite easy to consider the book as a picture of an ideal world.However,as it is Brave New World is substantially not a brave world,but a even more horrible world.

在学习英语的时候。也许有的同学会羡慕欧美人那一口流利的英语吧。其实羡慕是完全不必要的。我们中华泱泱大国，5000多年的文化历史，岂能是这些欧美小国能够比拟的呢？话说到底，这都是应试教育带来的弊端，学习英语本身是没有错的，它能增进我们的视野，也能方便的利外国朋友的交流，让我们更好的了解，把握住世界的动态。但让我想不通的是。我们白己的语言，我们自己的汉字，这几年却似乎被人忽视掉了。
也许有的人说，汉字还要学习吗？我们天天在说，天天在用的东西，就算不学也能够学握的。是的，你也许识字，也许能看明白报纸利电视。但是给你一篇古人写的文章，你是否能看得明白呢？知道里面所要表达的含义呢？中华民族几千年的文明进程，很多是被记录在纸上的，如果我们连这些古老的文字都搞不懂，怎么还好意思去提弘扬民族文化，继承前人遗志呢？记住，忘记过去，就意味着背叛。
汉字最注重的是横平竖直。中国人民同样如此，我们平时所推崇的东西不正是这些吗？老师从小就教育我们为人正直，不屈不挠，有情有义，诚实诚信。我认为，我们的汉字不仅仅是一种语言的工具，更是一种文化，是一种二十功名尘与土，八千里路云和月的民族气节。中华民族历来备受外族欺扰，从秦王汉武时期的匈奴精骑，到五胡乱华的震荡纷争，从蒙古大军的匆匆铁蹄，到日本鬼子的南京屠掠。我们的国家，我们的民族却始终没有在这些外来入侵者面前屈服。我们咽下悲痛的眼泪，拿起反抗的锤子和镰刀。保卫我们的家园，保卫我们的祖国。

《美丽新世界》读后感
《美丽新世界》是一本科幻预言式的小说，作者赫胥黎用冷静叙述的笔调，冷静的讥讽着这个世界，潜藏在文字底下的是一个又一个值得人们再三思索的问题——在看来美丽的新世界表象下，人们是否失去了更多？虽然书中描绘的是个虚构的世界和历史，但有些情况似乎已经出现于今日的现实社会中，例如：试管婴儿、基因工程、家庭功能与婚姻制度的逐渐衰落，我们似乎可以预想：也许这就是我们的未来——一个因科技发展与现代社会缺失所逐渐演变而成的既完美又可怕的新世界！在这样一个新世界里，人们处于看似自由，实际上却是生活在一个看不见的玻璃瓶中，一辈子受到暗示作用的制约！
在赫胥黎描绘的新世界里，人们失去了人性中的一些美好的本质，只因为安定的社会不需要这些东西。新世界利用先进的科学技术彻底改造人类。人们不再由母亲子宫诞生，在“每个人都属于每个人”的口号之下，人类不再有所谓的爱情，固定的伴侣和婚姻被视为罪恶；也没有了亲情，所有孩子全都由倾注而生；甚至连哀伤的情绪都失去了，对死亡感受到的只是快乐，只是为了达到回收再利用。就算是有了烦恼，可以服用一种安全的麻醉药“索麻”，它具有基督教和酒精的一切好处，却没有两者的坏处，服用之后就会立刻昏昏大睡，醒来以后所有不愉快都会忘得一干二净。

My Impressions after Reading”Gone with the Wind”

Recently,I have just finished reading a famous novel written by Margaret mitchell—“Gone with the Wind”,which is one of the most popular works among American novels.It took the auther about 10 years to finish this great novel,the only novel in her life. The story happened during the Civil War eve.Scarlett O'Hara,a 16-year-old girl,who was living in Tala manor in Georgia,was loving her neighbor Ashley Wilkes.However,after the war have broken out, Ashley Wilkes married his yonger cousin Melanie. Scarlett was so angry that she decided to marry a man she didn?t really love---- Charles Hamilton.Not long after that, Charles Hamilton joined the Army and died of illness in the war.So Scarlett had to act as a widow.Afterwards,at a donating dance party,Scarlett is acquainted with a captain named Rhett Butler. Then the flames of war approached Atlanta.Everyone was busy leaving away from the war.Scarlett managed to escape from Atlanta with the help of captain Rhett.Having come back to Tala manor,Scarlett made up her mind to rally her homeland at any cost when she saw that the former manor had been ruined.Later,her second husband died in the fight,she was a widow again.Durling that time, Rhett had been loving Scarlett sincerely and warmly.Seeing that Rhett could help her rally the manor,Scarlett married

Why is Gatsby great?
After finishing this novel, this question keep me puzzled for a long time. Is this an irony? As a result of deep thinking and analyzing others' reviews, I finally came to a conclusion, that it isn't a irony.
Gatsby is dramatically great.
First, he is a man of ambition and diligence.
He was born poor materially but not mentally ,longing for a broader world outside. Accidentally he met Dan Cody, a wealthy captain who bring him to the upper class, changing his life. Gatsby was not Gat was called James Gatz originally, but he changed his name in order to suit his status. When he was young, he fell in love with a beautiful debutante, Daisy, when the first world war broke out abruptly. Gatsby reluctantly joined the army, expecting to marry her as soon as the war ended. To his depression, he couldn’t return to America for some particular reason, and five years passed, Daisy married a rich football player, which convinced Gatsby that it was the desire of money captivated Daisy’s pure soul, so he exerted himself to make money, though by some shady business. Scarlett O’Hara
One of my friends had recommended the book Gone with the Wind almost two years’ ago, but my reading plan was just put off, for the book is really too thick and I even no courage to start. However, this semester I made my mind to read and I found myself was totally lost in the absorbing plots and the attractive characters the author portrayed. I was impressed by the war, the love and the hero Scarlett O’Hara, who would also be a charming and successful woman in today’s modern society, I think.
