I had a great time throughout my May Day Holiday.

On Monday, I went BBQ with my classmates who threw a celebration party at our middle school principle's flat. Our parents were invited to the party. Everybody was excited about the holiday. I ate a lot of delicious food at that time.

On Tuesday, I went visiting my uncle's family with my parents. We went to celebrate our good time at a fancy restaurant in Shanghai. Later that day, we sang karaoke in my uncle's house. We stayed for the night.

On Wednesday, I went shopping with my cousins. We bought some brand name t-shirts and pants. In the afternoon, my cousins gave me a fun ride on the city highway. They also taught me how to drive their fancy car, so I tried to do some turning and parking. It was not easy first. But I learnt quick.

On Thursday, we returned home with many gifts from our trip. I tried to get some rest. At night, I chatted with my classmates on the phone, and I watched CCTV before going to bed.

homework. They think homework helps them review and practise what has been taught in class. Students can better understand and memorize their lessons by doing daily homework. What’s more, their skills in managing time can also improved through homework .

? On the other hand, about 30% of the students

think they shouldn’t do daily homework. They believe that homework reduces their amount of leisure time with their 20

families, not mention the time for their activities. What’s worse, with a lot of homework to do, students feel tired, therefore, will lose interest in their lessons.

? From my point of view, daily homework is

necessary,but it must serve a purpose and be fit for a student ability.Alao, the amount of homework should be limited, for a student’s all-aroud development is more important than anything alse in his or her life.

I'm writing to tell you the discussion we've had on whether the school should organize a spring outing for the students.

Opinions on the question are divided as follows:70% of the students think that the school should organize the spring outing. They believe that the spring outing can make them enjoy the nature's beautiful scenery, which can broaden our vision and fill us with more knowledge. They also say that the air in the open fields is fresher. What's more, fresh air does a lot of good to our health.

On the other hand, 30% don't like the idea of going out for a spring outing. In their opinions, time is very precious, so they have to grasp every minute to work hard at their lessons. Besides, traveling costs a lot. In that case, it will add to their families' burden. Above all, no one can be sure of the safety of every student.

Recently I have joined in a discussion on the Internet about whether more MET opportunities should be provided each year.

Of course, different people have different opinions on the issue. Some are in favor of this idea. They think that more test opportunities each year meets the need for MET reform. It allows students to have more chances and also helps reduce the stress of both parents and students.

However, others express their worries about it. They believe that more test opportunities each year will add a burden to both students and teachers. Besides, it will be a waste of money, labor and other social resources.

As far as I am concerned, the more chances， the better. More test opportunities each year will improve the fairness of MET.

Sunday morning, my parents and I went to the suburbs to get

learn agricultural science and trade their products. And in spare time

they can enjoy various leisure activities, like playing table tennis and

Dear Dick,

How nice to hear from you again. You want to know what is

going on in schools in China? In short, things have begun to improve

since schools were called on to reduce learning load. I don't know

about others, but I used to have to work even at weekends doing

endless homework and attending classes as well. In the evening, I

couldn’t go to bed until I finished my homework at 11:30 pm. Now, however, I have more free time. I can follow my own

interests such as reading books, visiting museums, and taking

computer lessons. In the evenings I can watch news on TV or read

newspapers. What's more, I can go to bed earlier. As far as I know,

everyone is happy about this new arrangement of things. Best
