-----A Report on The Importance of Staff Training

1. Introduction

Training and development are processes that attempt to provide an

employee with information, skills, and an understanding of the organization and

its goals. In addition, training and development are designed to help a person

continue to make positive contributions in the form of good performance.

For the first point, it's important for a company to organize training for their

employees. Firstly, it's a way to make the new recruit to familiar with the

background and the task they should take. Secondly, the professional training

can make progress on staff quality. It will achieve the further outcome for the

company. Thirdly, it will motivate the workers loyalty. Therefore, it's necessary

for a company to give staff training.

For the second point—methods, what methods can be used to give staff

training? I think there are mounts of ways, for example, the workshop,

presentation, seminar and the meeting and so on. It's better to combine all of

these methods together and make the training regularly.

For the third point—effectiveness, when we organize training, how can we

identify its result? Does it really work? Frankly speaking, some consequence cannot be seen by eyes such as the motivation influence. But we still have some method to assess the activity.

From above mentioned, we can now conclude that staff training plays an important role is the development of a company. And we can also finger out some method to be used on staff training. What's more, we also should see the feedback of the training to adjust it better.

So we need staff training in any business.

2 . Findings

2.1 The purpose of training staff training

2.1.1 Reduce staff turnover rate. The better your training, the more he is willing

to stay in your company.

2.1.2 Let employees adapt to the work in order to reduce the error and save time.

Tell him what he needs to do and those regulations can help him make fewer mistakes, save time, so that company efficiency is improved.

2.1.3 Show a clear position and organization of personal expectations. Tell him

his position, what he need to do, what you want to do.

2.1.4 Help new employees do their work faster.

2.1.5 Enhance stability level of enterprise. In fact, in other words, reducing loss

rate.

2.1.6 Reduce employees complaint. Employees come in without care, he will

produce the complaint. A good training will reduce employee anxiety and complain, he can really concentrate his mind on work .

2.1.7 The most important purpose is to let him into enterprise culture. We apply

the sentence from Lenovo ,called "into the mold", that is no matter what his background and history is , and from what kind of company, let him quickly adapt to the company's organizational culture by strengthening way. In fact, this is the most important purpose of the new employee training.

2.2 The benefits of Staff Training

2.2.1 Enhance the sense of responsibility

Staff training can enhance staffs’ responsibility and the sense of belonging to the enterprise . Training not only improve staff skills, but also improve staff awareness of their own value, and let them have a better understanding of the work target.

2.2.2 Promote communication

Training can promote the mutual communication between the enterprise and the staff, management and employees, and enhance solidarity and cohesion, creating excellent corporate culture. If the industry managers and staff agree with the corporate culture, they will learn to master the scientific and technological knowledge and skills consciously, and enhance the sense of ownership, quality awareness and sense of innovation.

2.2.3 Improve the overall quality

Training can improve the overall quality of the staff, improve the production efficiency and the level of service, establish a good corporate image, enhance the profitability of the business .

2.2.4 Improve the competitive advantage

Helping enterprises adapt to changes in the market, strengthen the competition advantage, cultivate the reserve force of enterprise to maintain the vitality of the enterprise following the operation ever .

2.2.5 Improve performance

Improving job performance. Effective training and development enables employees to enhance the knowledge needed in the work, including the organizational structure of enterprises and departments, business objectives, strategies, systems, procedures, technologies and standards of work, communication skills, and interpersonal knowledge

2.3 Training items

2.3.1 Orientation for New Staff

At the beginning of the new employees join us, we will position them. The introduction for them is focus on the company's history, management systems and related health knowledge. We hope that the new employees can adapt to our culture and into the new environment as soon as possible.

2.3.2 Job Skills Training

For new graduates, not only they will join our appointments training program, but also a series of job-skills training including visits and periodic assessment. We hope that they can experience the real-time work environment and how they can use their skills directly to their job. Hence, they can develop a busy, mature and responsible working life.

For present staff, the human resources department will examine the job

duties and functions of different departments, as well as coordinating with section heads and supervisors, in order to develop a series of training programs for responsible staff. Program contents cover shipping knowledge, purchasing, warehouse and quality management.

2.3.3 Foreign Language Training

An excellent command in English is very important to our staff, especially for staff in sales & marketing. Our company will organize three different classes, namely elementary, advance and intermediate classes for staff, depends on their practical situation. Many companies will invite foreigners as English teachers to teach their staff in order to enhance their English communication skills.

2.4 Points For Attention When Hold a Staff Training.

2.4.1 I think setting the objectives is very important. The trainees need to be

very clear about the goals of the training, so that they can know what they should do in advance and what they’re able to do after the course.

2.4.2 It’s important to choose the suitable training company. On the one hand,

the company should have the ability to provide the quality training and achieve the objective set. A survey of the company’s history and reputation is also essential. On the other hand, it’s necessary to see whether it’s within the company’s budget and whether it’s worthy the money.

2.4.3 What types of training are important. I hold that training in

communications skills, computer skills and foreign skills are beneficial

to the trainees further career development. If the employees have a good knowledge of these skills, they will perform well when they communicate with clients, it can not only impress the clients deeply but also establish a positive image of the company.

2.4.4 Receiving feedback from the staff. Because it helps us evaluate the

course. Therefore, we’ll be able to find out what strengths and weaknesses are. In this way we can improve the course and make it more successful when we run it for the second time. Last but not least, cost should also be considered. In anyway, no matter what business is, profit should be taken as priority.

To sum up, objectives, training company, types of training, receiving feedback and cost are important when a company hold a staff training.

3. Conclusion

Training your staff and keeping their skills up to date is essential to the success of your business or organization. Undeniably, the benefits from staff training are invaluable.

Firstly, let the staff have a comprehensive understanding of the staff and enterprise, reduce the strangeness, increase intimacy and sense of mission.

Secondly,it has been observed that the trainings are able to reduce staff turnover rate, increase productivity and improve the quality of work. Theses trainings result to greater staff satisfaction.

Thirdly, make staff understand that the enterprise performance need teamwork, instead of individual heroism. Corporate team is a chain, any part of

loss will affect the final results, so every employee should take the collective interests first. Fully cooperate with the team work, make the team play the biggest effect by tacit agreement.

Fourthly, help new employees be familiar with the work environment as soon as possible, let them have a good understanding of corporate culture, and help staff improve their personal quality, cultivation of occupation moral, professional dedication and team spirit, so that employees will become career employees by society.

So staff training is the vital key to ensure business competitiveness and business profitability.
