Being a good listener

Good afternoon everyone：

My name is Wu Wen xiu. I am a easy-going and enthusiastic girl. I am in Class15,Grade 1.

I love making friends.I have many hobbies, such as watching TV, reading novels and playing computer games like CF. I am also good at cooking delicious food . If you come my home, I will prepare a wonderful meal for you. So my friends also like to stay with me and share their happiness and sadness with me.

The topic of my speech today is being a good listener .

Good listening can always show respect, promote understanding and improve interpersonal relationship.

Many people suggest that parents should listen more to their children so they will understand them better and find it easy to narrow the generation gap.Teachers should listen more to their students then they can meet their needs better and place themselves in a good relationship with their students. Students should listen more to their classmates thus they will help and learn from each other and a friendship is likely to be formed .

What I want to stress is that each of us should listen more to others. Show your respect and never stop others till they finish their talk. Show you are interested by a supportive silence or a knowing smile .Be open-minded to different opinions even though you do not like them. In a word, good listening can really enable us to get closer to each other.

The person I admire most

Hello everyone, The topic of my speech is The person I admire most.

The person I admire is a policeman. He was 1.83 metres tall. Of course he was very strong. He often helped others, but never asked for anything in return.

On the evening of March 14th, 2011, a tragedy happened. When a womam was walking along the road ,suddenly a young man rushed to her and robbed her handbag .She ran after the man and shouted ,“Help！ Help！That man robbed me of my handbag！”The policemen happened to be passing there. When he heard this, he began to run after the robber. After a while, the policemen caught the man.

The man fought back. Suddenly he took out a sharp knife .But the policemen did not notice it. The man thrust the knife into the policemen’s chest. The policemen fell to the ground bleeding. At last the man was caught, but the policemen couldn’t stand up any more. When I heard this, I cried for a long time.

Though the policemen died, he will live in my memory forever.
