Science Development Class理实Personal Statement

I am a Material physics student in my last two year at University of Science and Technology Beijing, and I am very interested in applying for culture appreciation and internship program in Sunchon National University.

My main motivation for applying for this program at Sunchon National

University is its outstanding international reputation in Korea. I am also exited about the broad approach the programme takes to unique research technique with its widely international and multidisciplinary focus.

In my studies thus far at USTB I have come to appreciate the value of foreign culture that is quite different from what I experience in China, so I look forward to having a chance to go abroad. Studying science has taught me how helpful it can be to look at the issues of one discipline from the viewpoint of another and this is something I wish to continue doing. Whereas my study of English has enabled me to gain a global comparative perspective, I am eager to plunge into a multicultural environment to communicate, learn, and observe in person. And Korea, one of the most developed countries in the world, is the very place to realize my dream in my view.

In my past two years, I have studied every course seriously and achieved excellent academic results. As for my major courses, I did pretty well, especially in these courses related to statics and materials of mechanics. Besides my studies, I have sought to broaden my horizons and to cultivate further abilities by taking part in various extracurricular activities and

self-study projects. In the second semester of my freshman year, I ran for part of the student union of our university. This experience working in student

Union really inspires me a lot. At the moment I am also continuing my studies of English as a foreign language. I believe that mastering foreign language can give me a viewpoint in considering international questions and benefit my TOEFl and GRE test.

I also served as monitor of our class now. In that position, I successfully

organized many activities, including have party and arrange review materials for my classmates, which greatly enhanced my ability to organize and coordinate people and ideas.

I sincerely desire to have the chance to be involved in this program because of its prestigious academic atmosphere and Korean culture.
