Me? I've known for a whle.
I've always said that of anything changes，you know then, I'll change my mind.
But you know the problem that came for me , It's you know, what does that really mean?
I mean the decision like this，you can't allow you can't make that decision based on outside circumstances.
That has to be an internal decision.
And finally, I just had to accept the fact I don't want to do this anymore.
You know that's, and I'm ok with it.
And you know, once I accepted that, then it became time just to let everybody know I mean why not?
It takes a load off my shoulders and everybody and everybody else's.
I think it was just the right to do.
Were you emotionally drained tonight?
No not really, I mean it was the firt time I play a back-to-back.
So I was drained for other reasons.
You know what I mean.
But no, I mean I honestly feel good about it.
I really feel at peace with it and excited for what's to come.
What's the hardest part about retiring.
Honestly, I don't konw.
You know, it's tough to say now.
I think that question becomes a lot easier when training camp around next year，and I'm not there .
I think it becomes a question that's a little bit be easier to answer.
But now, I honestly feel really at peace with it.
And I've worked to so hard and continue to work really, really hard, even though I play like shit.
I work really , really hard to try not to play like crap.
And I just do everything I possibly can, and I feel good about that.
Kobe, we understand that we don't want you to spirally tuor, now that you announce it, are you willing to acccept and especially starting…
No, this is still extremely uncomfortable for me.
For me, is… the amount of respect that I have for the fans on the road.
I honestly, if anything, should thanking them.
And I think just mutual… showing mutual appreciation and respect for each other to me, is enough.
But I really can't thank the fans enough, man.
It's been such a motivator for me,
and such a catalyst for everything that I've accomplished though.
I have so much respect and love for them.
What he expects in Tuesday's game in his hometown of Philadephia.
What's that gonna feel like?
It's gonna be beautiful, man you know.
So much of my game was developed in Philadephia.
And lower Merion High School, Coach(Gregg)Downer.
Playing in the Sunny Hill League.
So many great coaches, played at Tustin Playground and all more playground and all these things.
Just so many so many great memories there.
It's so many very, very special moment.
Whether he entered this season thinking this would be his last one
Yeah, that's a good way to put it.
Because I really knew.
I think you guys could tell.
I mean, it was kind of like:This is it, but if something happened you know…
Now I don't think you make a decision that way.
You have to look inside, if had a burning desire to continue to play, I would. I wouldn't be second-guessing, I wouldn't be on the fence. I feel very solid and … in my decision…
How do you know this is the end?
Excuse me ?
What told you this is the end ?
Well I don't want to get too zen-like when you guys… but honestly sitting and mediation for me.
My mind starts drifted and always drifted toward basketball, always, always.
And it doesn't do that now.
It does at sometimes, it doesn't do that all the time.
And to me that was really the first indicator that this game is not something that I can cobsess over for much longer.
I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor. That's not my business.
I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone if possible.
Jew, Gentile - black man - white.
We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that.
We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another.
an provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls has barricaded the world with hate has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in.
Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.
Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind.
We think too much and feel too little.
More than machinery we need humanity.
More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness.
Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.
The aeroplane and the radio have brought us closer together.
The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in man, cries for universal brotherhood for the unity of us all.
Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women, and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.
To those who can hear me, I say: 'Do not despair.
The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress.
The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power they took from the people will return to the people.
And so long as men die, liberty will never perish.
Soldiers! Don't give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you and enslave you, who regiment your lives - tell you what to do - what to think and what to feel!
Who drill you - diet you - treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder.
Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men with machine minds and machine hearts!
You are not machines! You are not cattle! You are men!
You have the love of humanity in your hearts.
You don't hate, only the unloved hate - the unloved and the unnatural! Soldiers! Don't fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!
In the seventeenth chapter of St Luke, it is written the kingdom of God is within man, not one man nor a group of men, but in all men! In you!
You, the people, have the power, the power to create machines! The power to create happiness!
You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful to make this life a wonderful adventure.
Then in the name of democracy, let us use that power.
Let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world.
a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a future and old age a security.
By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power.
But they lie! They do not fulfil that promise. They never will!
Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people.
Now let us fight to fulfil that promise!
Let us fight to free the world - to do away with national barriers to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance!
Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness.
Soldiers, in the name of democracy, let us unite!
Ladies and Gentlemen，never before have we had so many different ways to talk to one another.
In the distant past, written documents would be carried by hand across thousands of miles from China to Western Europe.
Today, we access knowledge from all over the world, through our mobile phones and at a tap of the key.
Wherever you are watching this program, whether in this hall, at work, with your friends, or at home with your families. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes.
Many of the most important conversations we have in our lives take place in the family home.
The home is where we learn from our parents and grandparents, teach our own children, and share our stories and hopes for the future.
It is where many of our ideas and values are first kindled.
In that spirit, there is one subject I believe we have to discuss, around our family tables and across the generations.
It concerns the future, and I know the Chinese are a far-sighted people.
It concerns particularly the environment, and I know that protecting China's rich and beautiful natural heritage is important to all Chinese families.
It is the mass destruction and trafficking of iconic endangered species.
And it is time to talk about the growing human demand for illegal wildlife products that drive the trade and makes it profitable.
Today, we face an unprecedented surge in the brutal slaughter of iconic animals by poachers.
In South Africa, for example, one rhino was killed every month until 2005. But last year, three rhinos were killed every single day.
In the 33 years since I was born, we have lost around 70% of Africa's elephant population.
Of those that are left, 20, 000 are being killed every year. That is 54 elephants killed every single day.
At this rate, children born this year, like my daughter Charlotte, will see the last wild elephants and rhinos die before their 25th birthdays.
Those who suffer the most from this loss are some of the poorest people on our planet.
They are the families who feel powerless as wildlife around them disappear, who face being trapped in poverty forever, without the income that should be brought in by tourism, a cornerstone of the economy in many developing nations.
They are the children whose parents risk their lives in the fight against poachers.
In the last few days, three rangers and one member of the armed forces were killed by poachers in one incident in Central Africa, leaving behind 14 children between them.
It is these children's future that is blighted so tragically by the illegal wildlife trade, and it is their birthright that is stolen.
There is no hiding from these facts today. On our phones, laptops and our TV screens, we can see the images and read the reports that lay bare the truth of this crisis.
That knowledge brings responsibility: the responsibility to do everything in our power to reverse the march towards eradication of these fine animals.
