故事主要是叙述已经发生的事情。做这种题时通常要交代故事发生的时间、地点和人物。不能脱离提示内容，要尊重原文但又不能逐句翻译。
报道，主要是新闻消息报道，比故事简单，只需说清发生的事情、主要人物、地点等，一般用于报刊杂志上。
