Good morning everyone

It's a great honor for me to stand here to deliver a speech to you. Then today I want to talk something about dreams and reality.

As the famous Russian litterateur Lev Tolstoy （列夫、托尔斯泰）said, “Ideal is the beacon(烟火、灯塔）. Without ideal, there is no secure （无虑的, 安全的, 安心的, 可靠的, 保险的）direction; without a direction, there is no life.” So there’s no doubt that everyone needs his or her own ideal. Have you ever thought that what is practical and sensible（.明智的, 有感觉的, 明理的） will connect with our most treasured dreams? Maybe, to somebody, reality has little relation to ideal. To others nothing can be done without the sense of reality. So make our dreams a part of our reality. And make our reality a part of our dreams. There is no reason why our dreams must oppose our reality. Improve our dreams and our reality by bringing them together.

Life is a process of growing up. Saying goodbye to childhood, we step into another important time of life‘the youth’.However, who can really say what the youth is ? A period of time? A belief？ An attitude to life? Or anything else? We don’t know.

A famous poet said ‘ youth is a lovely song ,where nothing is impossible ; youth is a meaningful book, you’ll be never bored of it ；youth is a rapid river ,it keeps on flowing day and night ；youth is a cup of tea ,it shows you different kinds of tastes in your life. ’

当瓦特制造了第一台蒸汽机，当牛顿在被一颗苹果砸中后发现了万有引力（universal gravitation），当马克思写出了《共 产 党宣言》，当毛泽东在天安门城楼上庄严宣布中华人民共和国成立，当马丁·路德·金用热血呼喊出“I have a dream”时，这个世界就改变了。被一个叫做梦想的，看不见，摸不到，却拥有无穷力量的东西，改变了。

我敢肯定，每一个孩子都写过题为《我的梦想》的作文，年幼的她们在懵懂的时候就写下了对未来的憧憬，有的是科学家，有的是教师，有的是医生。也许当时的她们并不懂在实现梦想之前有多少艰辛和困苦，但这犹如一颗小小的种子，种在了孩子们的心中，也犹如一座灯塔，在迷茫的大海中指引他们前行。

梦想，是力量的源泉，是信念的支撑，也是引导的北极星，无时无刻不提醒我们：前进、努力、奋斗。我的一个朋友告诉我：梦想不会抛弃任何人！没错，也许有一天，什么都离你而去，但是唯独梦想，会坚守在你身边，永远??

梦想改变了我们，我们又因梦想改变了世界，是梦想让世界每天都新鲜，也是梦想让社会不断进步。我们敢梦想，更能实现梦想，改变世界。

我可不能想像没有梦想的世界，你呢？

The world changed when James Watt invented the first steam engine, when Isaac Newton discovered the universal gravitation after hit by an apple, when Karl Marx wrote The Communist Manifesto, when Chairman Mao solemnly declared the establishment of the People's Republic of China on the Tian'anmen Rostrum, when Martin Luther King cried out “I have a dream”. The world was changed by something called dream, which is invisible, untouchable but strong enough.

I am grateful for the opportunity to deliver my speech here after 7-days’ preparation with my friend Jinly. Thanks to Jinly’s strong support in our work. I think it is my way of saying thank you to you that giving an excellent presentation to all my friends here.

The subject of our presentation is “YOUR DREAM & YOUR GOAL”. During the next 10 minutes, we’ll give you a brief explanation of these stuff at the best of our knowledge.

First of all, I’d like to spent 3 or 5 minutes on discussing about the dream. When we were 5, they asked us what we want to be when we grow up. We answered like superman, princess, or in my case, a sailor moon. When we were 10, again they asked and the answer was policemen, doctors and some other high-principled jobs. But unfortunately, we finally found our dreams unrealistic as we entered a not-so-good high school, did not-so-good school works and went to a not-so-good direction in our life. I guess, many of you have thought about changing your dreams, but finally felt at a loss again. Yep! We’re adults and they are waiting for a serious answer. Well, how about this? WHO THE HELL KNOWS! Dream is only a dream. It’s unnecessary for us to think over our dreams all day long. You know, dreams always change, and this is not the time to make difficult decisions. But what do dreams do? Why do we still have an urgent need of dreams?
