This passage mainly talks about the importance of character development of children by giving an example of an old lady who gives up the seat offered by a gentleman to her grandchild.

It’s common in our country that parents or grandparents often spoil the kids. For example, parents or grandparents will buy shoes of famous brands to satisfy their needs, no matter how expensive they are. What’s worse, they provide kids with whatever they want and ask them to do nothing in return.

When these spoiled children grow up, many of them may greatly disappoint their parents. Some of them even commit crimes. If it happens, who is to blame? Recently, the topic of whether English should be tested in a reformed way has been heatedly discussed. Many believe the current evaluation procedures hinder students’ comprehensive abilities and therefore argue for a reform.

Personally, I am against this point of view. There are numerous reasons why I think so, but today I would explore some of them. Firstly, I don’t think our comprehensive abilities are hindered. With the rapid development of economy, some serious problems arises as well, such as drug abuse illegally.   There mainly exist three reasons accounting for taking drugs which have to be included when referring to the topic. Contrary to this class of drugs, another class, downers, will decrease one’s heart rate, cause feelings of sadnesses and even damage liver if consumed in large quantities. The last group I want to mention is drugs like LSD, whose reactions range from increased heart rate to acute anxiety, to some extent, committing suicide.

When it comes to Aids, everybody is at a loss what to do with it. It is widely known to us that it is an incurable disease which endangers millions of people’s lives every year. thus, I feel it necessary to get some information about ways of its spread and measures to be taken to fight it.

As we all know, HIV is spreading across the world at a high rate, mainly via three ways, among which unprotected sex absolutely should be put at the first place.
