A Beautiful Mind

"A Beautiful Mind", is the story of John Forbes Nash Jr., the genius mathematician, whose life suddenly takes a turn for the worse when he is diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia. After fierce battles with his inner self, he overcomes this and returns to win the Nobel Prize in 1994 for his brake through game theory in economics that he had been working on during his years in Princeton University in the 1950s.

The film is excellent at illustrating the troubles that Nash encounters throughout his career. The movie's latter portion shows us that Nash is struggling against the roommate Charles, the little girl and the so called Defense Minister who are all imaginary people. But it all reflects his insistence and will.

Last but not least, the most important thing I want to share is the love between the couple. It does touch me. When the husband is out of his mind, the wife never fails him, and tries her best to help him come into the normal life. And finally under the help of his wife, he overcomes the disease and makes a great breakthrough. It is the love that works. I sill remember the last scene when Nash spoke to his wife in the Nobel Prize award ceremonies that “You are all my reasons!”.
