Chinese tea has a history of over 5,000 years. During its development, some unique tea cultures have come into being. It covers from tea plant cultivation and conservation, tea-leaf picking and processing. Tea-leaves are mainly produced in the southern areas to the Yangtze River for mild climate and rich soil there, such as Yunnan’s Pu’ er, Zhejiang’s Longjing, Fujian’s Wulong and Guizhou’s Tieguangyin. These areas produce many famous tea varieties.

Tea culture is one of the common things shared by all the 56 ethnic groups in China. Many Chinese people believe that a day is not perfect without a cup of tea. Either in the warm southern mountain area or on the frozen northern grassland, drinks like Gongfu tea and milk tea are all among the favorite drinks. Furthermore, both ancient and modern Chinese people are full of talents on poems, essays, dances and dramas of the tea culture.

Chinese Kung Fu, with a history of a few thousand years and a number of fighting styles, is an important part of Chinese traditional culture. Its birth was attributed to the need for self-defense, hunting techniques and military training in ancient times. Historically, the influence of Chinese Kung Fu could be found in books and in the performing arts specific to Asia. Recently, those influences have extended to the movies and television that target a much wider audience. As a result, Chinese Kung Fu has spread beyond its ethnic roots and has a global appeal.

As is shown in the drawing, in the bathroom where there is a sign saying “DON’T WASTE WATER, PLEASE”, a girl is busy making herself up, totally forgetting that water is still running out from the taps. In fact, wasting phenomena like this are frequently seen on campus: rows of lights left on in vacant classrooms; rice and dishes left over in waste buckets.

It is high time that such campus waste should be eliminated because we are living in a world with limited resources. And if we do not cherish things we have today, sooner or later we will be short of them.

To reduce waste on campus, we should all discipline ourselves: Turn off the lights when we leave the classroom; eat our meals up; don’t waste water, etc. the world will become much more beautiful as long as all do our bit.

Dragon dance is a form of traditional dance performance in Chinese culture. The movements in the performance traditionally symbolize historical roles of dragon, demonstrating power and dignity. The dragon dance originated in the Han Dynasty. It is believed to have begun as part of the farming and harvest culture, also with origins as a method of healing and preventing sickness. It was already a popular event during the Song Dynasty when it had become a folk activity and was most often seen in various festival celebrations. The dragon dance is a highlight of Chinese New Year celebrations held worldwide in Chinatown around the world.

The Third Plenary Session of the CPC 11th Central Committee held at the end of 1978 represented a profound turning point in the history of new China. Since the launch of the Reform and Opening- up Policy, (which was) initiated by Deng Xiaoping, in 1979, major efforts have been made to readjust the economic structure, and reform the economic and political systems. Duanwu Festival, also known as Dragon Boat Festival and the Double Fifth, is a traditional festival originating in China. The festival occurs on the 5th day of the 5th month of the lunar calendar. This is the origin of its alternative name, Double Fifth. Three of the most widespread activities for Duanwu Festival are eating zongzi, drinking realgar wine, and racing dragon boats. Other common activities include hanging up icons of Zhong Kui, writing spells and wearing perfumed medicine bags. The Forbidden City, grand and magnificent, represents the highest peak of ancient Chinese architecture and enjoys worldwide fame for its scale and unique style. Paper cutting is one of China’s most popular traditional folk arts. Chinese paper cutting has a history of more than 1500 years. It was widespread particularly during the Ming and Qing dynasties. People often beautify their homes with paper cuttings. During the Spring Festival and wedding celebrations, in particular, paper cutting are used to decorate doors, windows and rooms in order to enhance the joyous atmosphere. The color most frequently used in paper cutting is red, which symbolizes health and prosperity. Chinese paper cutting is very popular around the world and it is often given as a present to foreign friends.

Endowment may be part of Chinese tradition, but the standards have become so high in recent years that a majority of families are finding it difficult to meet them. The high endowment amounts often rob grooms’ parents of their life’s savingsand causes family disputes. Besides, many newly married couples are forced to host extravagant wedding ceremonies to keep up with the Joneses and, in the process, run up huge debts that could turn their married life sour, at least in the initial phase. A recent study conducted by the Boston Consulting Group says there will be 220 million affluent consumers, who are from households earning between $ 20,000 to $ 1 million in China by 2020, and 75 percent of them will live in “smaller” cities. With the development of the Internet, an inevitable trend among these consumers is they are much more dependent on information from social networking services. Many of the website’s customers are “grouped” by Wechat, Weibo and QQ Zones. It is now estimated that 250 million Chinese consumers will shop online this year and the average shopper in a fourth-tier city in China will spend 50 percent or more of their income on e-commerce than those in top-tier cities.

Although studying in the United States is practice speaking English, which is still seen as the most important language for job seekers, Korean employers are increasingly looking for graduates with experience in China. Samsung Group, for example, said two years ago that job applicants with Chinese language skills would get bonus points.
