History

Xiangyang is a famous national-level historical[citation needed] and

cultural[citation needed] city in China, with a history of over 2800 years. It was the location of major battles during the Three Kingdoms period in 191 A.D. between Sun Jian and Liu Biao and in 1267-1273 A.D. between the Southern Song and the Mongols.

Its major scenic spots and cultural sites include Xiangyang City Moat, the Pseudo-classic Street,[clarification needed] Ancient Longzhong, Memorial Temple to Mi Fu, Lumen Temple.

The wall of Xiangyang city is very old, but the condition is fine now. The region's premier tourist attractions are Dahongshan scenic area and some historical relics, including the Lumenshan relic, the Zhanggongci Temple, the Cheng' en Monastery, and the Baishui Monastery.

Xiangyang has a monsoon-influenced, four season humid subtropical climate (K?ppen Cfa), with cold, damp (but comparatively dry), winters, and hot, humid summers. Monthly daily averages range from 2.6 °C (36.7 °F) in January to 27.3 °C (81.1 °F) in July, with an annual mean temperature of 15.5 °C (59.9 °F). Humidity tends to be high year-round,

exacerbating temperature extremes, though rainfall is noticeably greater during the summer months.

Industry

Xiangyang possesses large water energy resources whilst its mineral deposits include rutile, ilmenite, phosphorus, barite, coal, iron, aluminum, gold, manganese, nitre, and rock salt. The reserves of rutile and ilmenite rank highly in China. Textile production is the mainstay industry of Xiangyang followed by machinery manufacture, chemical processing, electronics, and manufacture of construction materials. Agricultural resources are significant with Xiangyang's chief farm products including grain, cotton, vegetable oil crops, tobacco, tea and fruit. As the home of Dongfeng Motors, Xiangyang is a well known automobile hub. Rail and highway transportation facilities in Xiangyang are very good. Xiangyang is a railway junction for the Xiangyang-Chongqing (Xiangyu), Wuhan-Danjiangkou (Handan), and Jiaozuo-Liuzhou (Jiaoliu) Railways. Three National Highways including Route 207 pass through the city. The Han River and four other rivers are open to commercial navigation year-round. Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China, the seat of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Paty and the Central People's Government of China. It is the political, economic, cultural and communication center of the country as well as that for international exchanges.

With a vast blue sea to the east, the Taihang Mountains on the west , Beijing enjoys a splendid terrain and location in China. Beijing has 18 distuicts and counties under its jurisdiction. Beijing covers a vast area. It is a city rich in products and is a city of which its inhabitants can be deservedly proud.

Many magnificent buildings of classical styles can be found in Beijing. You can find the Purple Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven, and the Summer Palace, the famous Badaling Sections of the Great Wall. All these now have become renowned tourist attractions for visitors from all over the country and also the word.

The Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square in the world, and now is the essential destination for every visitor, Chinese or foriegn, to Beijing. In addition, Beihai, Jingshan and Xiangshan Parks as well as the Badachu scenic area are all renowned tourist attractions in Beijing praised by visitors from all over the world.

Luoyang plays a very important role in Chinese history. So it has a profound cultural background and many great heritage sites have been well preserved. Such as Longmen grotto,one of the three grottoes in china and white horse temple,being regarded as the cradle of Chinese Buddhism.

Luoyang peony is world-famous. Every year,many tourists travel to Luoyang to see the beauty of peony. The people in my hometown are friendly,they welcome the travelers from all over the world.

My home is in a town. It lies in XXX．It has a population of fifty thousand. Our town is in the south of our county.The Ease Sea is to the east of the town. To the south is flat land. Mountains are on the west. And a river runs from north to south in the west of my town.

Great changes have taken place here. You can see tall buildings， big department stores and factories everywhere. Different kinds of cars and buses are running in the big streets. But with the development of the industry， we have fewer trees. Air and water pollution is becoming more and more serious. We must do something to stop pollution and make our town even more beautiful.
