It is time for me to say good bye to you all after 10 year's working at PwC. During my time in PwC, it has been an eye opening experience for a young man coming from a small bank. Some of those experience I have encountered were exciting and some were challenging, but overall, they have definitely marked an unforgettable phase in my career and life.

To leave PwC is the most difficult decision I've ever made in my life and now the only thing I want to say is thank you. Guess it's time to say good bye. After four years working here, today is my last day in PwC.

Although I always keep telling myself that this is not the final destination where I'm pursuing for, it's still a little bit sad to say good bye when I really have to leave after these years. This is not a very long period, but definitely a very meaningful one for me. All of you and the

A Farewell Speech

Ladies and gentlemen!

Time goes so quickly and your visit to Shanghai is drawing to a close. Tomorrow morning you will be leaving Shanghai for England by plane. It’s a pity that you cannot stay in our country any longer. Then allow me to take this opportunity to say goodbye to you.

First of all, I wish to thank you for the cooperation and support you have given us in the past two and a half days. You have kept good time on all occasions, which made things a lot easier for me. You have been very attentive when we had something to tell you. Also, you have been kind enough to offer us suggestions on how to be better tour guides. I’d like to add that you are the best group we’ve ever been with.

During your stay in Shanghai, you have visited the major scenic spots in Shanghai. Some of you are impressed by the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the landmark of Shanghai; some appreciate the European-styled architectures which you may no longer find in Europe; some are fascinated by the night of Shanghai when you cruised on the Huangpu River while others enjoy shopping on the Nanjing Road.

Three days ago, we met as strangers; today, we bid farewell to each other as friends. A Chinese saying goes, “Agood friend from afar brings a distant land closer.” I hope you’ll take back happy memories of your trip to Shanghai.

We’re living in a world of diversity cultures and languages. Cultural exchanges and mutual understanding are essential to a better world, a world of peace and love. You have been visiting this country and you have been talking to her people, which will surely bring about better understanding and closer relations between our two countries and two peoples.

As you have probably observed, Shanghai is developing very quickly. When and if you come back in the future, the city may have changed beyond recognition. Meanwhile, I will continue my humble job as tour guide. I hope to see you again in the future and to be your guide.
