简爱英文读后感

Book Jane Eyre

Author Charlotte Bronte

Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!–I have as much soul as you,–and full as much heart!

——from Jane Eyre

Jane Eyre is a story about true love, about the pursuit of women’s freedom, independence and equality.

Jane Eyre neither had mother nor father, she grew up in Mrs. Reed’s----her aunt’s home, and she was bullied by her cousins. She didn’t want to stay in Reed’s home anymore, so she was sent to orphanages. There she met her best friend Helen, but Helen died of typhoid fever. After her graduation, she came to the Sangen Rumsfeld, became a family-teacher for the Mr. Secretary Luoche. Mr. Luoche had a strange temper, after several contacts, and Jane soon fell in love with him. Mr. Luoche asked Jane to marry him, of course Jane accepted him. In their wedding, Mason pointed out that a crazy woman who lived in a small house on the top of the castle is the wife of Mr. Luoche. Jane didn't want to be his mistress, she left the Sangen Rumsfeld. And she came a remote place and became a village teacher with the help of a priest. When the priest wanted to marry Jane, she thought of Mr. Secretary Luoche. When she came back to Sangen Rumsfeld, the castle was in ruins, Mr. Luoche became blind. Jane came back to him; they got married, living happily together forever.

Finally, Jane got her happiness. I was impressed by Jane’s determination. Even though she was looked down by a lot of people, but she never gave up herself. She tried her best to work and study. At last, she had her own property and a beloved person. She strongly believed “Although I can’t choose property, but I can choose life.”

Jane was confident all the time, she said “I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh;–it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at God’s feet, equal,–as we are” and “We are equal, I am not heartless machine”. Jane never felt abased when she faced Mr. Luoche, Jane thought they were equal, they should respect each other.

I have learnt a lot from Jane Eyre, and it really had effect on my life. First, I learnt fortitude from Jane. Her parents died early, she was an unlucky girl. Jane never complained, she just worked harder and harder to change her life. She wasn’t beaten by those difficulties; she tried hard to get through it. We all have difficulties in our lives; we should be as strong as Jane. We might fail a lot of times in our daily lives, although we have failed for 100 times, we should stand for 101 times. Second, I was impressed by Jane’s pursuit of love, women’s freedom, independence and equality. She never dissemble her love, she aspire after her love bravely. Jane said to Mr. Luoche “we stood at God’s feet, equal,–as we are!” Jane was a representative of women, she showed that women should be self-esteem and self-confident, women would be neither tempted by money and any other benefit nor forced by rights. We were born to be equal, everybody should be brave enough to chase everything you want and preserve proper rights.

Because of insistent attempt, Jane succeeded at last, Jane got everything. The most important thing about her, however, was that she proved herself to others, she proved that everyone was equal, this really encouraged thousands of people to chase something they want.

For us, we should learn Jane’s attitude to the difficulty, life and ceaseless pursuit. If we do so, how could those things get in the way of our success?

第二篇:简爱英文读后感

My own feeling after reading 《Jane Eyre》

First of all, I should say that the author’ name was already reverberate like thunder in my mind .But I didn’t knew 《Jane Eyre》 is her work actually.

So today, I’d like to experience this amazing story and also taste the world famous masterpiece by reading book.

I think, we should clear and definite what type this book is firstly. But to be honest ,I can’t give you a certain answer by myself ,because I just can’t understand why Jane fall in love with Rochester .To my own opinion ,they are just asking and answering some strange questions all the time .Jane even don’t know many things about Rochester, for example ,his wife , daughter and include his servant.

It’s fall in Love at First sight, maybe. So I could tell you that it is a love story maybe romantic story with a bad grace.

I have asked some of my friends who have read this book before about how they valuate Jane. They told me she is obstinate, pitiful and beautiful. But to me, except obstinate and pitiful, she is always a nice but not beautiful girl .Why she isn’t beautiful? It’s not necessary. You can imagine a girl who has been experienced the suffering, and then a natural temperament will be thrown off. Maybe it’s called elegance. So you can see she didn’t show any lowliness when she talks to Rochester and even the headmaster of school.

Sometimes I regard sending Jane to the Lowood School as a good choice, even thought the strict and grim teachers are there. Because her aunt violates the promise of his husband and always rides roughshod over Jane.

In school, Jane makes a good friend called Helen. Even though there is a cold headmaster, she also gets many cares from her friends and Miss Temple. But unfortunately, Helen died because of the typhus. It’s so hard to Jane for finding a real confidant, but they are apart now.

After eight years staying at Lowood School, Jane leaves to be a tutor in Thornfield Hall. There she will be staring her legendary life I think when I read to that part.

Just as I say, Jane teaches a girl at Thornfield Hall. At that period she fell in love with the Thornfield Hall’s host Rochester, suffered bigwigs through weight around her, forgave her aunt who just has one foot in the grave. But the most important thing is Rochester will get marry. It’s broke Jane’s heart you know.

Now dram turns a cycle, because the bride is Jane. Maybe the story will go finish, but the book still has almost one third left.

Then Rochester’s true wife appeared, and she is so horrible. But she died in a fire which is cause by her finally. By the way, she took the Thornfield Hall and Rochester’s one eye to report to death. And Jane left Rochester although they still love each other.

After all there experiences, Jane comes back to Rochester, and they always stay aside each other.

Now a picture that Jane together with Rochester and their descendant sit around a stove flashing in my mind.

Think about that Jane, a poor girl before, embraces not only love but also money finally. I feel that god just like your uncle, maybe he will kidding you, but the gift from his hands should be presented to you in the end.
