Today,I will talk about whether friendship is a necessity.

I hold that friendship is a necessity in life. Of course ,the majority of people will agree with me.

Friendship is a kind of human relations. It is a human instinct to make friends. It plays an important part in our life.

Friendship not only brings us a lot of happiness,but also reduces the sense of loneliness.Because friendship is a basic source of hope in our lives .For

example,when we are happy,we can share our feelings with friends; when we achieve success ,we can also tell friends to share our joys.when we are sad,friends are good listeners who can give us suggestions to make us get rid of it,if we are in trouble, we can turn to friends for help , friends will surround us and friends will offer us support and encouragement.

Every one of us needs friends, so that we can depend on each other. people want to do friends favours and hate to break a promise. In contrast with marriage ,there are no friendship ceremonies to strengthen the association between two persons.But the supporting and understanding of each other does seem to a powerful bond ,which can overcome differences in background ,and break down barriers of age, class or race.

In terms of real friendship, true friends share not only joy ,but more often they share sorrow. As we get to know people, we take into account things like age, race ,economic conditions,social position,and intelligence.To the true friendship , these factors are not of prime importance. close friends just have similar ideas and beliefs and have attitudes and interests in common .

Friendship is also a bridge between people to communicate with each others, which let us understand each other better. in the modern age, people attach more importance to relations and connections.Diffient people will make our minds more advanced and mature .

To me, I will never forget my old friends and keep making new friends. With friendship, life is happy and harmonious. without friendship, we will be denyed with fortunate and happiness. Therefore, friendship is necessity.

Everybody needs somebody, somebody whom is called "Friend". "A friend in need is a friend indeed." If only that kind of friends can be called "Friends", then there are only few up-to-standards for me. About friendship, we have millions of quotes to support my "saying",

"Friendship is nothing but giving." But for most of the time, we're pleased with receiving things from others, instead of giving.

Well, I'm not saying friendship is based on stuff-giving, but it needs

emotion exchange, like "I can give you nothing but friendship", it sets up a very good example of friendship. Maybe we're too concerning about others' shortcomings, that we've missed a lot of friends-to-be. There are too many aspects about a good friend after all. So just take it easy, and let time do the rest.

You knew a proverb? A friend in need is a friend indeed. It means that when you are in trouble or at stake ,he or she doesn't be far away from you, still by your side ,comfort you ,help you ,even he or she is involved in your danger.Then he or she is your genuine friend,and only that kind of friendship can last forever.

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Today I would like to begin my speech with a story.

There was once a physical therapist who travelled all the way from America to Africa to do a census about mountain gorillas.

These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under the threat of poaching and being put into the zoo.

She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures.

She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we’ve ever been where in the very depth of the African rainforest surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies.

Yes, that’s a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorrillas in the mist, based on a true story of Mrs, Dian Fossey, who spent most of her lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.

To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.

Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth.

It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur- natural scenes aren’t natural anymore.

Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on walkman and wear Nike and Recboks.

All these appalling facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been croding our resources.

Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel haws put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism for the first time to bring to the world’s attention the benefits of tourism, but also its

Knowing how valuable friendship is, we should be very careful in making friends. Real friends are those who have good character, superior ability and kindness of heart. Real friends can share all our sorrows and double all our joys.While making friends, we should take care to select those who have such fine qualities. Then we should treat our friends with courtesy, be careful not to interfere unreasonably with them,and not to ridicule their proceedings. We should forgive their failures and do our best to help them. In short, when we have established friendship, we ought to cherish and treasure it by means of words a

nd deeds. Only thus, can we develop real friendship and keep the sacred lamp of friendship burning all our life.
