How to overcome the psychological obstacles of speech

Good morning everyone. I am so glad to be here to talk this topic with you --- How to overcome the psychological obstacles of speech .The reason why I make this speech so late till deadline. Actually, it is because I have strong psychological barriers to do the speech. And I guess today¡¯s speaker has the same feeling with me. However, why we are fear to make a speech? I think, if we really want to overcome this difficulty, at first we must recognize clearly the main reason why we have barriers on doing the speech, especially English speech. So, considering all sort of situations, I conclude the following reasons.

Firstly, being lack of confidence. When standing on this stage, we tend to think about we have never been made a good speech before and always worry about being laughed at by the audience.

Secondly, worry about forgetting the speech contents. Sometimes, even though you had spent a lot of time on preparing of the speech, you are still afraid of forgetting what you have prepared. Because this, an acute sense of crisis will come up in your mind so that the more you feel nervous, the more you forget.

The third one is fear of the others who also do the speech. If someone else made a good speech before us, we also become stressed.

And the last one is inadequate preparation. Not exclude the

possibilities that the speakers make a speech who considering with bad attitudes. He or she thinks they will make pretty well, though they made little preparation. To some extent, it¡¯s a kind of overconfidence.

Ok, do you also have the above problems? If your answer is yes, please make use of the tips I'm going to share with you here and now. I really hope it¡¯s the right medicine for all of us.

First of all, believe yourself .There is one thing we must realize is what we experienced is the same as any other successful speaker who also have different degrees of tension on speech. Before making a speech, you can speak some positive words loudly to yourself, like ¡°I will success!¡± .To built your faith of success; it¡¯s very important and useful to help you decrease nervous.

Choose your topic carefully. That¡¯s tip two. You should choose the topic you are familiar with, which can be closely related to your study or your daily life .For example I have a dream .my favorite sport, and so on. You can avoid too much pressure and make it better.

The third one is practice, practice, and practice. As a proverb says, practice makes perfect. Only with repetition can we be relaxed in speech. Of course, a deep understanding of your topic, but not just recite, is really critical to overcome our tension.
