Impression after reading <<Pride And Prejudice>>
-by Icey
This book written by Jane Austen. She was born in
Hampshire,England.Primarily educated at home, benefiting from her father’s library and the schoolroom atmosphere created by her father’s pupils. She is a knowledgeable woman. So she can complete several masterpieces like <<Pride And Prejudice>>.Not only did I read this book, also I played a role in a short play which is based on this book. Therefore,I can understand this book deeply.
I want to talk about Mr.Darcy and Lizzie. The main characters in this book, one is a man named Darcy, who is rich, handsome and pride. The other is a woman named Lizzie, who is puer, kind and beautiful. And the two people fall in love with each other. At first Mrs.Lizzie has a prejudice against Mr.Darcy because of some misunderstandings. So even she herself does not know she loves him.Mr.Darcy fall in love with Mrs.Lizzie at the first sight. But he is so pride, that e always wants to over his feeling about Mrs.Lizzie.Eventually,Mr.Darcy ignored his aunt’s obstruct. He is determined to marry Mrs.Lizzie.In his eyes Mrs.Lizzie is a beautiful, kind girl, and she does not like other
mean girls. With the misunderstandings clearing up,Mrs.Lizzie forgive Mr.Darcy. The ending is exciting that they get married. My inspiration about this book is :Love is powerful.Someone thinks that their marriage is based on fountain.Because
Mr.Lizzie refuse her cousin’offer of marriage. Maybe it is,but the truth is that Mr.Darcy and Mrs.Lizzie they love each other.Rich men always want to find a good girl.We can’t say that rich men can’t find their true love. We can find the same personalities in our society. It also representative the
society in Britain in the 18 century. It is a love story and an illustration of society at that time.It reflects the relation between money and marriage. The author ask readers one question: Does money mean everything? In my opinion, money is powerful, but it can nor determine everything.
All in all, this is just my thoughts.
This book is quite possibly the most insipid novel I have ever read in my life. Why this book is so highly treasured by society is beyond me. It is 345 pages of nothing. The characters are like wispy shadows of something that could be interesting, the language that could be beautiful ends up becoming difficult to decipher and lead me more than once to skip over entire paragraphs because I became tired of having to stumble through them only to emerge unsatisfied, and the plot is non-existent, as though Austen one day decided she wanted to write a novel and began without having any idea what would happen except that there would be a boy and a girl who seemingly didn’t like each other but in the end got married. The story really probably could have been told in about 8 pages, but Austen makes us slog through 345 pages of mind-numbing balls and dinner-parties. I don’t care what anyone says, this is not great literature. This is a snore.
