Reading books is reading our own lives. The Pilgrim’s Process is just a book symbolizing life of everyone. “City of Destruction”—how elaborate the metaphor is! We live in the world where we will be facing death, which is the same case the residents met in Destruction. The pilgrim’s process is just the process of life where we will go in the wrong way influenced by vanity, insincerity, and indolence, etc.
After reading this book, I feel easy and free and understand lots of truths: we should behave elegantly even if we are faced with difficulties; we must be careful when making friends so that we can tell the real friends and the false ones; we are supposed to be level-headed when face with something deceiving; It is possible for everything to have a favorable turn as long as it doesn’t end.
Clare said ever:“ Man is alive for some kind of faith”. In our daily life everyone also should have his own faith in his own bottom of heart. Faith will offer us great help in mentality even change our life. From Christian’ experience, we can see the power of faith. When he was nearly defeated by the demon Apollyon, it is Christ that gave him the courage and confidence to fight off the demon and went on his way to Mount Zion. So, power of faith is immeasurable, we’d better believe in something.
The Pilgrim’s Process also directs us to live an affirmative life and the universal love and tolerance really makes me feel warm. There are many people in modern society who choose to commit suicide when they are in despair. However, The Pilgrim’s Process tells us that being killed by others can only destroy our bodies, while committing suicide destroyed not only our bodies but also our souls. Suicidal can only solve the pain in body but the pains in your soul will maintain forever. Only love can comfort all the pains. Love from Lord of Lords or love is endless universal love. Lord of Lords would forgive all the people who have ever made mistakes but have changed that. Lord of Lords gives his love to common people without ant requirements. Nowadays, people are becoming weaker and weaker. This book is just the book which is your food of soul; it will give you the warmest feeling and let you understand that the most important thing in the world is love instead of so called physical things such as money, power, and glory. We must balance our material wealth and spiritual wealth so we can keep a peaceful heat. Only in this way, can we love ourselves and love others at the same time.
What impressed me most is that I see the process in which a man improves himself through
correct his faults. When Christian found himself deflected from the correct direction, he felt ashamed but he didn’t give up, he confessed his sins to Christ and went back to the correct way. Finally, no temptation can divert his attention any more. This is growth! Man’s growth process is also like that: we make mistakes and correct them, and then we make a process and grow to maturity.
The Pilgrim’s Process is just like an elder Wiseman, he tells me a lot of truths and experiences of life which help me live a better life and enlighten my heart. He tells me man should have faith; he tells me man should have an affirmative attitude towards life; he tells me that growth is a process in which you correct mistakes instantly. I am really grateful to him!

怀着虔诚的心情，读完了被誉为“英国文学中最著名的寓言”《天路历程》。这本名著是清教徒约翰·班扬在狱中十二载心血凝成的杰作，其家喻户晓的程度仅次于圣经。本书讲述了一个坚韧的基督徒为寻求永生而踏上荆棘遍布的漫漫长旅，从毁灭城出发，经历了许多考验，遇到了各种阴险人物的诱惑和凶险。一路上，基督徒学会了如何抵制诱惑，战胜困难，最终达到了自己的目标，天堂的大门向他敞开。书中奇特的想象，丰满的形象，以及时时刻刻透露出的理想主义的热情，都让这本书超越了时代和信仰的限制，在历史的长河里熠熠生辉，至今仍光彩夺目。《天路历程》是一部可以从多个角度反复阅读的书，每读一次，都会有不同的愉悦之感。
事实上，班扬并没有多少经典文学的积累，他在写《天路历程》时依靠的是自己对上帝的热爱，对人生的感悟，以及后来的批评家所承认的——在文学方面的创造力。《天路历程》对寓言体这一古老文学体裁的运用，对梦境的形式的借用、生动的现实主义描写、和谐的结构安排、戏剧性的对话，以及简洁平易的语言风格，都使它不仅仅是一本宗教著作，更是一部文学经典。
书中的主人公天路客一开始便背着一个沉重的包袱，接受传道人的指引离开所居住的注定要灭亡的城市，去往锡安山上的永生之地，卸下身上的重担。但是这条路充满了危险，前方只有一抹光，那方向存在着他惟一的希望。人性的缺点，如固执、善变、伪善、虚荣…….这些都被作者想象成天路客在路途上碰到的路人，他们都在干扰着他前往正确的道路。正是在这过程中，他的信仰越来越坚定，人性的缺点被一一克服。他也遇到了两个朋友，信仰与希望，他们陪伴着天路客，人性的光辉被完美呈现出来。
从古至今，人性的丑恶与缺点就从未消失过，它们时时刻刻存在于我们之中。天路客走的那段路，其实也可以看成我们每个人的人生之路，我们都会有这样那样的缺点，这些阻碍着我们到达想去的目的地，只有怀抱坚定的信仰，勇敢的克服这些缺点，我们才能获得最后的成功。或许在这路上你会孤独，会恐惧，但正如书中所说：“引到永生的门是小的，路是窄的，找到的人也少。”
这本名著的主题便是让人有坚定的信仰。人没有信仰，那么活着便如行尸走肉，没有信仰就不会有前行下去的动力。天路客信仰基督，在路上的危难时刻，他都会虔诚认真的祈祷，他相信主不会抛弃他，所以他也没有放弃，而是迸发出了强大的力量，信仰便是他力量勇气的源泉。克莱尔曾经说过：“人是为了某种信仰而活着”。在当今这个社会里，没有
规定必须要信什么，但是每个人的心底都应该有属于自己的那份信仰，在我们困难的时候，它可以为我们提供巨大的心理帮助，甚至改变我们的人生。
书中的另一个令人称道的地方便是它教诲人们摒弃自己的缺点，不断完善自己的人格。这个时代的诱惑太多，因此走上弯路的人也很多，其中一个很重要的一个原因便是他们不会自我净化。走错路在所难免，但是很多人却一错到底。天路客发现自己偏离了正确方向后懊悔羞愧不已，可他并没有放弃，而是再次向主忏悔，并回到正确的道路上，到了最后，那些诱惑已经不能在让他分心了。这便是成长，便是得到了救赎与解脱。
看着天路客走完天路历程，我的心灵也跟着接受了一次神圣的洗礼，它引发了我太多感想。《天路历程》指引我们要向往积极向上的人生态度，它里面显现的那种博爱和宽容更是令我感到很温暖。现代有很多的人在绝望的时候就选择了自杀，而《天路历程》却告诉我们“被别人杀害只能摧毁我们的肉体，而自杀却把我们的肉体和灵魂都摧毁了”，自杀只能解决肉体上的痛苦，而心灵上的痛苦却永远存在。只有爱的力量才能够抚平心灵上的痛苦，万王之王、万主之主的爱就是一种永无止境的博爱，而且他宽容一切曾经犯过错但是现在已经悔改过的人，他把他的爱无条件地奉献给世人。现在的人的心灵变得越来越脆弱了，而这本书正是给我
一种精神的食粮，让我从心里上感到温暖，让人感觉到世间中最重要的是爱，而不是一切物质性的东西。我们在现实生活中应该使我们的物质财富和我们的精神财富同步发展，我们才能够保持心态的平衡，更能够爱自己和爱别人。而对于我的人生路，我会怀着坚定的信仰，无所畏惧的走下去，相信我会到达那最后的永生之地。
