Just the Good Scene?

Jurassic Park is an eternal science fiction which was showed in theaters in 1993. This film is adapted by a Michael Crichton’s novel and its director is Steven Spielberg.

Jurassic Park was ranked within the top ten in the global box office chart until 2007. It achieved several Academy Awards, including Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound in 1994. What is more, BAFTA Film Award, People's Choice Award and some other famous film awards gave Jurassic Park lots of honors.

However, some people said that Jurassic Park could achieve success only because of its great scenes. They said Jurassic Park lacks of meaningful theme and its plot is boring. Mike Clark is one of the opponents for Jurassic Park. According to his review in USA Today, “Spielberg’s talent has run out, but his colorful lights are still moving; it may give this 90-minute film too much, and the roles are stuffy.” (Clark, An Unprepared Ending) Mike Clark pointed out that the plot is boring and the structure of production does not have any creativity. First, the story is too simple. A group of rescue workers came to the island to rescue two men, unimportant characters had dead quickly, and important figures had a satisfactory ending in the Hollywood ways at the end. Second, usually, only the first episode of the film series will be fine; then the sequels would be worse and worse. This sentence is basic for the three-movie Jurassic Park series. If you say Jurassic Park I created several points audience were interested in, then

Jurassic Park III only replayed these points to treat audience perfunctorily with nothing else.

Despite the film being criticized by some people, more people thought highly of Jurassic Park. In Jay Karl’s review in New York Times, "Jurassic Park can completely be regarded as the best sci-fi movie that is able to combine art with entertainment so wonderfully.”(Karl, A Perfect Combination)

Being directly confronted with Mike Clark, Jay Karl said Jurassic Park is a meaningful film. This film makes a reflection of the development of society and science: laws of nature can not be violated, or human beings would be punished. In the film, some businessman and scientists copy the DNA of dinosaurs and create dinosaurs in order to earning money. Later, the dinosaurs escape and kill many people. Totally, the wonderful film contains technology alerts and dazzling special effects.

I agree with Jay Karl. At a glance, Jurassic Park is vulgar; in fact, I think Jurassic Park has deep meanings. Just as what Jay Karl said, being mixed with the fighting with dinosaurs, there is the awe of the laws of life. I think Jurassic Park is able to tell audience the truth and the enlightenment when enjoying magnificent scenes, which is a wonderful job.

The only drawback is the ending of Jurassic Park I. Mike Clark said the film stopped too hurriedly at the end. When the film is going to end, most audience thought there would be a climax, but it was wrong. Several pterosaurs beat their wings across the sea away, then to the end. I think Spielberg would better provide more pleasant surprise for audience here. I think it would be better if the pterosaurs hit the

main characters’ plane and then broken a fight.

In any case, Spielberg played the fusion of art and business to the extreme. In his film, dinosaurs are not monotonous and clumsy supporting roles any more, they become eye-catching protagonists. What is more, Spielberg made Jurassic Park a indelible mark in film history.

Life will always find the way out!
