A Film Critic on Captain America

We watched a movie called “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” in our Learning to Speak class.

It’s a superhero story. After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, lives quietly in Washington trying to adjust to the modern world. But then he is trapped into a big conspiracy. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Faclon. And of course after all the struggles they win in the end, at least win in this period.

First and foremost, the cast is fabulous. They made a smart choice to have Scarlett Johansson paired up with our handsome Captain. Scarlett is also a leading character in Iron Man. She is doing great in Marvel movies. She has got a different perspective on the kind of work they do and a very different backstory. Once things really start getting crazy, there is an interesting tension because of her.

Moreover, the relationship between Captain America and the badass Natasha is both amusing and heartfelt. Natasha is trying to figure out who she can match Steve with. And it’s interesting that Natasha simply isn’t an option herself. They play it for the laughs, but there’s something real underneath it. Tears are one thing you don’t expect in a superhero movie, but even the hardest of hearts will find their encounter terribly moving.

At last, it’s a great action movie. Iron Man had the sky-soaring suit, Thor had the planet-shattering mallet and the Hulk had the humungous green biceps. Then there was Captain America, whose ability of throwing around his shield made him the star of the Marvel universe.

Once again, Captain America delivers a delightful surprise and is my best Marvel movie ever.

（本来不想用英文题目，但是自己又实在不知道该如何翻译captain这个词。船长，队长??这些翻译也许只有放在一起才能是个完整的概念，那是一个有领袖气质，又时刻和大家在一起的英雄。）

《Captain America》是众多美国漫画形象中为数不多的没有惊人超能力的一位，但它的魅力丝毫不亚于超人或者蜘蛛侠，也许在人们心中，他们都有着一个共同的“超能力”，那就是给我们希望。与其说人们期待英雄，不如说人们依赖希望。

故事的主人公罗杰斯从瘦小到强壮，从被人忽视到魅力四射，从舞台偶像到战场英雄，他完成了外表的蜕变，但是正如之前选择他的科学家说的那样：“强壮的人一生强壮，可能不会把力量当回事，但是瘦弱的人知道力量的价值，也知道，同情。”因此尽管自己越来越强，她却始终保持着做人的良知，对战友的负责，对朋友永远不变的真挚友谊。

除了塑造这个高大形象，这部影片也许还有别的一些意义。主人公的艺名是“美国队长”，也许他的所作所为正是美国人民对他们国家形象的一种期待。

最初的美国是弱小的，正如瘦小的罗杰斯。但是凭借着美国人的智慧，和不屈的精神，他们得到了上帝的青睐，抓住机遇成为了强国，在第二次世界大战中，美国人也确实成为了盟军的“队长”，并带领其他盟国最终取得了胜利。

然而之后的美国便一直在搞霸权主义和强权政治，在世界各地挑起争端。我想影片在这一方面也作出了回应：美国队长的唯一武器就是一个盾牌，表明人们希望美国采取主动防御，而不是扩张侵略的军事政策。而在结尾，因执行任务受伤，进而沉睡近七十年的罗杰斯突然醒来了（由于被注射了特殊血清他并没有衰老），也许，这正是美国人民所希望看到的——正直，勇敢，顽强，富有同情心的美国队长精神的复苏。

这部电影同样不缺少爱情和友情元素。出于对罗杰斯的保护，女主人公两次想要阻止他去做危险的事，但是最后都含泪选择了尊重他的选择，无论是从民族大义，还是从“爱他就给他自由”的角度，影片都在倡导一种理性的爱情观。而友情在这里丝毫没有被爱情掩盖了光辉，罗杰斯儿时的伙伴巴恩斯总是在他被欺负时挺身而出，当罗杰斯变得更高大更有魅力，他没有忘了对方，而是拼了命去救他，并给予了高度的信任，巴恩斯没有让罗杰斯失望，在一次关键任务中，巴恩斯献出了自己的生命。罗杰斯悔恨不已，可是女友的话让他最终释怀：那是巴恩斯自己的选择，他愿意以生命为代价，是因为这段友情值得他那样做。
