申请信大致可分为：申请职位或申请学位或留学，对自己的未来设计很重要。这类信件一般涉及写信人对所申请单位或学位的了解，对该单位的良好印象，自己将会为之做出的贡献；申请人的学历或工作经历；表达希望获得此工作或学位的愿望。在写求职信时应当在注意礼貌的同时，注意信息的可信度。尤其是在强调自身经历和优点的时候，更应把握尺度。求职信比较容易把握，而且也非常实用，所以应当熟练掌握。这类信件的主要结构是:

1) 说明写作目的。表明想要获得什么工作或学位，介绍自己，为什么写信。若是应聘工作则还需说明何时何地从哪里获得该职位的招聘信息（对公司评估广告效应非常重要)。所有这些可以用一句话概括。

2) 介绍相关工作经历及本人个性，以表明你可以胜任这个职位。包括教育背景、工作经历、个人能力及成就。还可根据情况简单介绍个人爱好和兴趣。注意：所有这些内容均应与应聘工作或学位有关系。介绍背景时，选词遣字既不过分渲染，又不过分谦虚。要给人留下既充满信心又态度诚恳的印象。

3) 表示感谢和期待，恳请招聘单位对自己的申请给予优先考虑，留下联络方式及对对方表示感谢。因为求职信是在请求别人考虑你的申请，考虑给你机会，所以礼貌语气是必要的，也是重要的。

I am writing to inquire about career opportunities in the fields of marketing and advertising. I am very interested in working at Ace Advertising, specifically in the Art Department.

I will be graduating from Saint Michael’s College in May with a double major in Business Administration and Fine Arts. At Saint Michael’s, I have developed a very unique educational experience that has combined the financial, theoretical, and practical aspects of a business education with the creativity and design theories of a fine arts education. I have also become proficient with the computer applications prevalent in these fields, particularly Adobe Photo Shop, and QuarkXPress. As an intern at XYZ Communications, a major advertising firm in Burlington, Vermont, I was part of a creative team responsible for developing the graphic images illustrating the advertising copy for magazine and billboard promotions. During the summer of 1999, I studied in Venezuela where I acquired insight into the business and artistic forces affecting marketing and advertising, especially in a global marketplace. As a result of these experiences, I am confident that I will bring both technical skills and a fresh perspective to the creative team at Ace Communications. I am enclosing my resumé. 出国留学申请书中英范文

　　在准备留学申请材料时，作为对外联系主要文件之一的简历，其质量高低将直接影响申请者的成功率，为了能让对方清晰地了解申请者，简历在写作方面应力求真实、全面、简洁、明了。

　　留学申请者的简历应包括以下几个方面的内容：

　　1.姓名：与各种学历证明的姓名相同，如有更改姓名的情况，务必在公证时予以声明，并附上公证书。

　　2.性别

　　3.出生年月日及地点。与各类学历证明的出生年月日一致，出生地点写明国别和省份。

　　4.国籍

　　5.婚否

　　6.现在工作单位及详细通信地址。

　　7.个人教育背景。包括大学、硕士阶段的在读时间，所在大学的名称、专业和所获学位，参加工作后的受教育经历，主要指脱产接受专门的进修、培训或学习。

　　8.个人从事专业的经历。填写专业经历应力求抓住重点，突出研究方向。担任教学工作的可列出主讲、助讲课程的名称，担任研究工作的可列出参加各个研究项目的课题名称。

　　9.个人的著作、论文或研究成果要分门别类列出，并一定要与个人专业经历相一致。所列著作要注明名称、出版年月、出版单位。所列论文要注明论文题目，刊载杂志或期刊名称、期号、语种。对于在学术会议上发表的文章还要注明学术会议的名称、召开时间和地点等。如果其中有被外国学者评论过的，最好附上刊载评论文章的杂志名称及时间。

Personal Statement

I have been greatly fascinated by chemistry since my first exposure to the Periodic Table of Elements. The natural order of the first 12 elements, discovered approximately 450 years ago, made it possible for the elements to be placed on a chart consisting of rows and columns, such that elements sharing a column were discovered to have similar characteristics. This led Russian scientist Dmitry Mendeleyev to predict the existence of the element with the atomic number 32, germanium, as well as its colour, weight, density, and melting point. The predicted elements have since been discovered and I was greatly marvelled at this feat amongst many others. My interest in chemistry has been further stimulated as I have continued to learn more about the characteristics of the individual elements, the nature of their atoms, and how they form familiar chemical compounds that are particularly critical to the existence of life and the practice of medicine.

英文书信格式：

英文书信通常由下列五个部分组成：

A 信头（Heading）包括写信人地址和写信日期，通常写在信笺的右上角。在比较熟识的朋友之间的通信，写信人的地址常可略去。地址的写法通常是由小到大，如：门牌号、街道名、市（县）名、省名、国名（邮政编码通 常写在城市名之后）。这同中文书信的地址写法完全相反。日期写在地址的下方，可以写1～3行。通常有下列两种定法： （a）月、日、年（美式）：如August 15, 200__ （b）日、月、年（英式）：如15th august, 200__ ，月、日的后面用逗号,年份后面不用标点。

B 称呼（Salutation）指写信人对收信人的称呼，如Dear Xiaojun，写在日期下一两行，顶格写，称呼后面可用逗号，也可用冒号，一般用Dear…或My dear…开头。

C 正文（Body）这是书信的主体部分，即写信人要表达的内容。正文一般在称呼下方隔两行处开始写，正文的首行左边一般留约5个字母宽的空白。

D 结束语（Complimentary Close）它是书信结尾的恭维话，相当于文中书信最后的“祝好”、“致礼”之类的话语。如 “Best wishes”等
