Report on the Listening and

Speaking Training

From March 10 to March 21, we had a listening and speaking training . Our teacher Mr Gao have had a precise plan for the training. So from the first day, our training began in an orderly way. Our training content was mainly divided into two broad categories: the English listening comprehension and the spoken English.

On the first day, we had the speech-making skills and the speeches by ourselves. In the second day, we had some historic speeches and some speeches by current heads of states or VIPs. In the next two days,we had some listening practices for CET 4, CET 6, TEM 4 and TEM 8. It was very hard and boring, but I think it is useful to us. Then we had ourselves speech competition on Friday, most of us were very nervous and wanted to run away,but finally we insisted to complete it.

In the second week, we listened some English conversations , saw some American class videos, watched some English movies and TVs. We also had a role-playing on Thursday. In general, we were relaxed and happy this week.

English training is very important to improve our English ability, and two weeks of English training taught me that how to practice English hearing more effectively.At the same time,it improved my ability of oral expression and exercised the ability of practical application of English. Further more,I learned some new English learning methods.

English learning is a process of accumulation, we should pay more attention to collect material at ordinary times, remember more words, read more English newspapers, listen to more English recording. English is not just to learn, only through constant practice, our English could be really improved.

Besides that, I have learned something from the video. First is Aliens in the Attic, it is about a family vacation rented a villa in the wild. Just moved in, the roof came a group of aliens. Aliens have something can control adults but didn't work for children. Then a group of children and the alien launched a "game". Finally the aliens sent a signal, but that a group of children or to stop the alien

action. There is a "game" in which they made an alien friends in engineer .In this movie I know as long as you are sincere friends, and he will be your friend no matter who he is. I also know that the brave, persistence is each winner will be some character even if the last hour, the last minute, the last seconds. Courage, dedication and success is the necessary conditions.

The Terra Nova made a deep impression on me too. In 2149, the world regarded as hopeless. The whole earth was over exploitation, population overload, most plants and animals have already died out. Human beings is going to die, only to find other ways of living. USA scientists accidentally discovered the time gap, it can take a part of people to return to the past, to rebuild their homes. Shannon a family of five with the tenth batch of back to the prehistoric world people came to the New Earth -Terra Nova, and thus begins the story. In this new world, there are happiness and novelty, all things are being construction, and most of the people like the new place. But there are a lot of

danger too. I think the story will be developed according to the history of human beings and the problems arising from the story should be using for reference.
