The diagram illustrates the working process of a house’s central heating

system which provides not only water but also heating throughout the house. First of all, cold water is introduced in the ceiling of the house and is then stored in a water tank in the upper section of the house. The second stage is that the cold water flowing through the overflow pipe which is attached to a storage tank to the boiler where the water is heated. Meanwhile, the cold water also flows to the taps that provide hot water. Pipes pass through the storage tank which enables water to recycle, and pipes to the water tank in the ceiling allow the storage tank to be refilled.

In order to provide hot water and heat for the house, there is a boiler below the storage tank for gravity feed. When water passes through the boiler, it is heated up and then flows to hot water radiators placed around the house. Water will be forced into the recycling pipes and fed back to the boiler as it cools. A pump is located below the boiler in order to allow for the upward movement of water.

The flowchart illustrates the production of coloured plastic paper clips in

a small factory.

There are four main stages in the production of plastic paper clips from this small factory. Two of these stages involve actual preparation of the clips, while the other two consist of quality control before the clips are sent out from the factory to the retailers to be sold to the public.

To begin with, molten plastic is poured into three different moulds depending on the colour required; the colours are red, blue and yellow. Once these clips emerge from the moulds a quality control machine checks them for strength. Unsatisfactory clips are rejected. In the third stage in the process the clips are stored by hand into two groups, mixed and single colours. When this stage is complete the groups are checked a second time to ensure that the colour mixtures are divided correctly into single colours and mixed colour batches. Finally, the clips are packed and dispatched to the markets

The diagram below shows the method of obtaining water outdoors. The chart describes how water is obtained outdoors.

According to the figure, the first step of obtaining water outdoors is to find a hole with green plants on its bottom. Next, remove the green plants in the

middle and put a container there. Then, cover the hole with a plastic sheet and place two stones on both ends of it to secure its position. A third stone is laid on the middle of the plastic sheet so that the middle part is also the lowest part. When the sun shines on the green plants in the hole, water evaporates from these plants. The vapor rises up and then cools down to form water drops on the plastic sheet. When there is more and more water, it flows along the sheet to accumulate on the lowest part. Finally, water falls down into the container directly under the middle stone.

Thus, water is collected successfully through evaporation from green plants.
