Ms. Martina Navratilova Vice President of NAS division

EMC Corporation 123 Main Street

Southborough, MA 02199

Dear Ms. Navratilova:

I am a Software Engineer and a first year college X. Being a software engineer, I understand the special challenges in this area. I have also worked on Epoch Data Manager Software to support network data compression. My out of the box thinking fits very well with the position and the position gives me an opportunity to learn as well. Having had many classes at College X in management functionality, the classes offered me the chance to master the PARETO principle.

I have an advantage to diverse life experience. I have worked in Israel and US. I have worked in small and large companies. I have initiated and successfully led many projects as a Software Engineer. For example, I persuaded my department director in CIENA to start a software project. This project mastered the broad business challenges of the different

industries, the information involved in the businesses processes. In CIENA, I led a team of three new engineers to develop a completely new software feature. Ashok, was surprised when we delivered the project before deadline. I am interested in working with you and eventually joining EMC as an employee after my graduation. I am sure that my summer work will give you a deeper understanding of my skills. Furthermore, I have channeled architecture, which I believe is an aspect of this job. I am an excellent prioritizer and have people skills.

While I do not have a technical degree, as you ask for in your position description, my mathematics undergraduate training did provide me with the practice to learn quickly and through repetition. In my senior year at Bond University in Australia, I studied

kinesthesiology through mathematics, advanced quadratic equations, Calculus Five, and cuisine through mathematics. My roommate, who works at EMC in your enterprise

architecture division, repeated concepts and formulas with me every night. I can grasp the multiple aspects and impacts of issues, and projects it to the future. I am interested in the internship opportunity in the NAS division. Thank You for considering me for the internship position. I plan to call you to schedule an interview.

Sincerely,

Sara Smith

Dear Mr. Name:

My proven track record of successfully performing complex analyses on various corporations makes me an ideal candidate for the Analyst opportunity that you listed through the Name University Career Services Office.

You specify that you are looking for someone with leadership and communication skills. Last summer, I was given the opportunity to intern at First Real Estate Corporation. I

worked within the Real Estate Finance Group, and assisted staff with problems arising from the misinterpretation of leases to miscalculation of rent schedules.

As a result, I played an active role within the group and helped them to solve these issues. This process involved using the quantitative and analytical skills that I acquired through actively participating in coursework for my Business-Economics major.

My ability to work well as part of team also related to my success within this group. These attributes, combined with my enthusiasm to learn, were essential to my contributions and success during this internship.

I believe that I can apply the same skills within my internship last summer to a position within your company. I look forward to discussing the position with you in more detail. I will call next week to see if you agree that my qualifications seem to be a match for the position. If so, I hope to schedule an interview at a mutually convenient time. Thank you for your consideration.
