My Expectations for College Life

My Expectations for College Life

As freshmen, those days are gone when we got up early and went to bed late in order to make the most of every second to study, occupied in preparing for the college entrance examination with the college dream deeply in our hearts. It marked clearly the end of one stage of life and the beginning of anther that we graduated from high school and went into college, with the hope of new life full of fresh things in our mind and the expectations of our parents on our shoulders.

Therefore, when asked what my expectations for college life looks like, I would like to say seriously that since there is more free time in college, I will try my best to make every minute in my life meaningful and never stop the search for knowledge. Equipped with this great ambition, I thought there was nothing better than my wonderful college life once and my parents would be proud of me.

However, things don’t always go in the track you want them to go. I have been in college for two months or so since my parents and I reached my college together with luggage and, happy laughter. But now laughter can’t be seen anywhere. I can’t concentrate on study just like what I always did in senior high school and it becomes boring gradually that sitting in the classroom and listening to the teacher. What’s worse, the more free time lets me feel like a fish out of water, which strangely makes me miss the busy and fulfilling but pleasant senior 3 school life. The ideal at the beginning keeps further and further away from me and I have no idea how to change my current situation, or in other words, I have no motive power to do that. Without doubt, I have more freedom in college life and more time to spend on what I want to do, which also need the ability to govern them. And it is the ability that I am going to learn and master.

Somebody once talked to me like this: You have the goals, but you don’t know how to make it. Truly I have my own nice expectations for college life that I want to improve myself and realize my individual values and be excellent, but it seems so hard that you can’t simply achieve it without hard working. Not only do we need to search for knowledge, but we also need to search for what we really want our life to be and then pour your rest of life into it, which is the only way to success. And my expectations are still what they are.

第二篇:My Plan for University Life

My Plan for University Life

Why did I choose to major in Business English? The reason is that, I guess, professional woman is more charming. I often dream of working in a truly multicultural corporate environment where people strive to strike a balance between their own cultural core and being open to other value systems. And maybe the English fever and the commercial crisis have given driving force too.The English fever especially has a great impact when watching shocked and attractive western films. The commercial crisis stimulates my ambition on the other side. I'm really willing to enjoy the excitement and joy the combination ofChinese and Western elements brings to me. The crash of two different cultures is fascinating, which arouses my interests from time to time. To

major in Business English is commanding and it urges me to expand my scope of knowledge. Cultivating professional skills as well as mastering academic knowledge is out of question important and hard for a beginner like me, but I've made up my mind to further my study.

Other curricula I'm learning now are also meaningful more or less. They can assure that I know some fundamental knowledge of law, psychology, morality and military and so on. This kind of common sense can help me to cultivate the awareness of obeying rules and protecting myself from threats from outside world and inner world. I've got rid of the duck-stuffing study in high school, which makes students be rigid and have inflexible mind. Innovative learning is more popular here in university. Now, I can think what I really want to think and say what I really want to say, having no need to worry about doing things inappropriate, thus annoying teachers. Maybe this is the so-called academic freedom.

The extracurricular activity is rich and colorful. I've taken part in

severalactivities such as the Student Union, the Drawing Club and the Debating Club. By participating in these clubs, I'm able to make friends from different classes and different grades. The final purpose of providing these activities, I think, is to promote the quality education and cultivate really talented students who have both political integrity and profession skills. I've learnt a lot from it. For example, people should always keep optimistic and hold a positive

attitude towards work and study. Besides, when doing something, you ought to spare no effort, but if it turns out to be an unsatisfactory result, try not to take to the woods. Facing the music bravely to let your personality charm

shine. From my point of view, when finding a job after graduation, you can't be the employer's dream candidate just because you have flawless resume and impeccable credentials. In addition, with the grinding downturn of

unemployment wears on, the need of tough job market is, I dare to say, the versatile person. As a saying goes, "A popular man is who knows everything about something and knows something about everything. " We are fighting for

a shrinking pool of high-paying jobs, so special actions should be taken.

I'm not sure whether I will fall into the diploma craze and the craze for graduate school or not. What I'm sure about is that what I should do now is to exert all my energies to develop comprehensively in order to make my skills marketable and help me to stand up to greater challenges and fiercer competition ahead of me in recent future.
