My Review on Scent of a Woman

I was deeply touched by this movie, though it has no convulse scene, I appreciate it because of something about life it teach us. The movie chose two people with nearly no commons, Charles is young and a little shy, but Frank is blind and bed-tempered. On the other hand, we can say these two guys are alike because they both come to a crossroad of their life.

For Charles, does he insist his faith or betray his friends to make himself safe? For Frank, it’s much more terrible because he is planning to take his own life. Fortune’ wheel makes these two poor guys together. Being a soldier, Frank teaches Charles that it is shameful to betray friends and at the school meeting, he emphasize that so nice Charles is and the headmaster is teaching in a wrong way, which is really welcomed by the following students. Being a sincere and friendly boy, Charles makes Frank know that life is treasure that one should never give it up.

A word came to me that “If you make a mistake, get all tangled up, just tango on.” Yes, Keeping move on even we are faced with trouble. It is no only the tango

but also life.

Scent of a woman

Scents of a woman, a movie which will make people think of other things easily. On the contrary, this movie from beginning to the end is really a one between two men. Charlie Simms, a senior on student aid, takes a part time job in thanksgiving weekend. His job is looking after Frank, who is a lonely and blind veteran. Frank, a very excellent colonel, wins Silver Star and Silver Bar when he was young. But when he became a blind man ,he become bad-tempered ,he start drinking and smoking to lock himself .In colonel’s deep heart ,he desire to live with a woman he loves .But he is blind, he can’t do this.

In their journey to New York, colonel Frank use his life experience to tell Charlie that he should do what he think is right ,he should hold the conviction.

Student Charlie uses his kind-heart and firm to make colonel know that the world is so beautiful. After a few days, they become friends. They are not blood; between them they produced a wonderful relationship, this relationship across the age, situation, and experience’s obstacle. In the end of the movie, we saw Charlie and Frank return to the normal life. What is different is that Charlie know his own life more firmly and Frank Become happy.

From this movie, I start to think of my life again. Faced with big stress, whether we can choose the right path ,the path made of principle ,which leads to character .In this society ,there are lots of people choose to sell other people to buy their future. But for Charlie, he choose to keep silence .I try myself to look for this courage and integrity in this society. I try myself to search our

original soul .The soul that we believe firmly in the past .As for colonel ,he looks brave ,powerful .But in his heart, he is miserable and lonely .When he became blind ,he lose his eye to see our beautiful world .He use his big voice to cover up his weakness .But it can’t cover up his scar .He needs help and he needs real friends .I think watch this movie is like tasting a really good cup of tea ,at first ,it is a little bitter .gradually , It becomes sweet. What a greet feeling. I love it! In my opinion, our student should keep our character and do something meaningful. We can’t lose our principle easily .That’s all , thank you!
