Reaction to “the wind in the willows”

In March this year, I have read the book, "the wind in the willows", written by Kenneth Grahame,which is a fairy tale, more suitable for children to read, but also deeply attracted me. The book portrays the warm spring, the golden summer, the sleepy winter, and those cute little animals, which is my yearning.

This book is mainly talking about the mole and the rat, Mr. badger together to help their friend Mr Toad who liked exploring but run through the family fortune to correct mistakes and become a humble Toad. Mr Toad was pretty wealthy , and he was always trying new things , such as rowing boat, house ship and car so on , but soon he would become tired from those .At the same time, because of his rude arrogance, he rushed down the catastrophe so that he was wanted by the court. Later, with his good friends' help, Mr Toad finally regain his home, meanwhile , he also realizes his mistake.In the end ,he become a good toad.

Kenneth Grahame, who was born in Edinburgh in 1859, died in 1932. He worked for the Bank of England for many years, is also a writer. "the

wind in the willows" initially is a bedtime story for his small son . Published in 1908, it became one of the most famous children's books in history.

Having finished Reading the full story, recalling my childhood, the feeling is so similar. Those cute little animals are actually our childhood miniature :Some childs were calm and wise , some led a fast, others were of great enthusiasm. At that time,we were so naive, did not have all kind of importunate worries .I really miss the happy time that I once appreciated .

I was born and grew up in the country ,as a result I had the opportunity to approach the nature .when I read this book ,for most of the descriptions of the scenery ,I can have the same feeling that is pretty enjoyable with the author .However ,as I grow old ,I have few and few access to be drunk in the nature .Even sometimes ,I find life very boring ,and what is worse ,I can not realize what is wrong with me .Fortunately ,this book reminds me a lot about my childhood time .I know now I am bored because I lack the special heart that I had in my early life .

So now as long as I have available time ,I’d like to hang out in my campus just enjoy the nature like a happy rat without any other thought .
