《被佛教徒绑架的爱因斯坦：佛教与科学的论述谎言》

本来在撰写完《佛教的四大危害》一文之后就没打算再写有关于佛教的东西，无奈国内佛教徒们太无耻，而这里的信息又太封闭，导致傻子太多，所以不得不再下一些功夫。

准备词汇：佛教徒（Buddhist）、佛教（Buddhism）、佛（Buddha）

网上流出着一段很广的信息，英文如下：

"The religion of the future will be a cosmic religion. Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: it transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural & spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity. Buddhism answers this description. If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism."- Albert Einstein(1954, from Albert Einstein:The Human Side, edited by Helen Dukas and Banesh Hoffman, Princeton University Press)

翻译过来大意是：

一、关于这个谎言，维基语录（见下面链接一）早已经有明确注明，在Misattributed （错误引述） 栏目下，就有上述的段子。而且在维基百科：谈佛教与科学（见下面链接三）中也有外国的佛教徒否认了这一观点：

爱因斯坦与佛教，一个被广泛传播但却是伪造【spurious】的引述。

作者的分析如下：

As a Buddhist and physicist myself, I'd be delighted if this very widely-cited quote really could be attributed to Einstein, but regrettably there is no evidence that it can. It sometimes appears with a reference to Albert Einstein: The Human Side (Princeton University Press, 1954), but there is never a page reference - for the simple reason that the quote does not appear anywhere in that book.

翻译过来大意是：

作为一个佛教徒和一个物理学家，（看到上述的段子）我会很高兴（如果这个引述是真实的话），但是很遗憾，没有证据表明它是真实的（出现于普林斯顿大学 1954 年出版的 The Human Side 一书），该书没有一页有出现过上述段子。

二、看原著《The Human Side》，有没有这样的话，结果发现是没有的！

有人说，百科是可以随意编辑的，说不定是诋毁佛教的人杜撰的信息呢？那么剩下来只有一个办法了：对比原著。

我们上普林斯顿大学出版社网站（见下面链接四）查找，终于找到了《The Human Side》一书的信息（见下面链接五）：

原来该书一直有再版，最近一次再版是 2013 年，而且我们还发现了有电子书！

可以在 Google 的在线图书馆（Books）上直接看这本书（见下面链接六）以及查找内容。 很遗憾，一般用户是访问不了 Google点com 的，因为（你懂的），如果你要上 Google点com 的话，需要懂一点网络技术才行。

结果根本就找不到文章开头传言的那个段子（查找Buddhism、Buddhist、Buddha 关键字均没有发现），也就是说，这个段子是一个谎言。而且还发现一个事情，这本书并不是 1954 年发行的，而是 1979 年初版（first printing 1979），19xx年平装发行（first paperback printing 1981）的：这点和维基百科、维基语录吻合。

三、既然有平装发行，那么国内有没有翻译版本？很高兴，发现是有的，名字叫做《爱因斯坦谈人生》，1984 年《The Human Side》这本书以这个名字在国内发行。

我们再上网查找《爱因斯坦谈人生》的 pdf 文件（见下面链接七），下载回来查找一下看看是否有“佛”这个关键字。发现只有一句“它仿佛是从我早已消逝的青年时代传出的一个信息。”与佛教无关！

至此，我们从多方面考证了这个段子的真伪，经过鉴定是为假。

四、那么，爱因斯旦对于佛教，究竟说过些什么？

以下内容摘自维基语录以及《Science and Religion》（科学与宗教）一文。

The cosmic element is much stronger in Buddhism（佛）, as, in particular, Schopenhauer's（叔本华） magnificent essays have shown us.

Buddhism, as we have learned especially from the wonderful writings of Schopenhauer（叔本华）, contains a much stronger element of this.

从叔本华的散文中，我们知道，佛教里面关于宇宙元素的内容比较多。（德国著名哲学家。唯意志主义的创始人和主要代表之一。在人生观上，受印度教和佛教思想影响，持悲观主义的观点，主张忘我）

It seems to me that what is important is the force of this superpersonal content and the depth of the conviction concerning its overpowering meaningfulness, regardless of whether any attempt is made to unite this content with a divine Being, for otherwise it would not be possible to count Buddha（佛） and Spinoza（斯宾诺莎：西方近代哲学史重要的理性主义者，与笛卡尔和莱布尼茨齐名。） as religious personalities.

What humanity owes to personalities like Buddha（佛）, Moses（摩西）, and Jesus（耶稣） ranks for me higher than all the achievements of the enquiring and constructive mind.

If we want to improve the world we cannot do it with scientific knowledge but with ideals. Confucius（孔夫子）, Buddha（佛）, Jesus（耶稣） and Gandhi（甘地） have done more for humanity than science has done.

从上述语录可以知道，爱因斯坦在谈佛教的时候，只不过是一般的比较、引述引用，并无深入研究，更多的是拿来和其它哲学家、神比较。

至于称赞、甚至表示自己愿意成为佛教徒就更无从谈起。

希望大家在佛教徒吹嘘、往脸上贴金的时候，多加思考，多加分析，因为我们已经发现有许多段子都是佛教徒杜撰的。

再者，爱因斯坦只不过是智商高，但是一个人的良知跟智商、名气、财富等这些并无直接关系（比如李嘉诚，信佛，捐了十几亿盖寺，可香港人称之为吸血鬼，在内地疯狂圈地炒楼，民众怨声载道），所以名人，即使信佛、说过佛的好话，也不能代表什么。

今天又看到一个新闻，重庆的千手观音花费几千万重新贴金箔，实在是心痛、浪费。
